motability car verus bus pass

im pretty sure when i applied for my bus pass a section said you apply for the pass if the DVLA have said you cant get a licence or something.
pretty sure that was one of the conditions0 -

And its not your money it's the child's money
No we are not universally entitled, only those of us that have a child. By your reasoning we are all universally entitled to DLA, but only those of us with a disability receive it.0 -

From memory, yes, that is one of the conditions, but it's not an automatic disqualification.
For example, some people with varying disabilities can drive perfectly safely at times, and for other periods not be able to drive, this wouldn't disqualify you for a licence, but may mean you can't drive most of the time.0 -

Have you genuinely misunderstood or are you gerrymandering ?
Why would you contrive to deliberately misunderstand the meaning of what I have written. Of course child benefit is only paid to parent with .. .. er .. .. children.

- I don't have a problem with motability cars / blue badges & associated benefits, or indeed any benefits for the disabled
- no one here knows anything about me, or my disabilities, I may well have some or all of those benefits being discussed here
- I do have a problem with ungrateful moaners who grab all the benefits going including duplicate services, it's greed
- one person here with Blue Badge & free car wants a bus pass too, once the newness has worn off they will never use it more than twice a year
- disabled people of the UK should fight with polite determination for everything that they need but the degree of reprehensible greed in these groups is disgusting
As a total aside I think any ex regular / includes the TA who serve in theatre should be fast tracked with a much lower quality of evidence, than for example any other member of the UK society. If I'd been asked that a couple of months ago I might have been said no it should be equal rights .. .. .. after reading these groups for a month or so I think the general public should be a very long way behind the armed forces in the freebies stakes !
I am sorry Richie from the boro, but you sound a tad bigoted. Tone it down and your might get taken more seriously.
Not wanting to get into the debate about service folk and their rights, but people in the Armed Services are not the only people in the country who serve or served it. I was a Policeman for many years, seen some horror stories. Had my share of scares, dangers and injuries Got a wife who has had three neck operations after a man put her head first through a fence. The scumbag who had mugged OAP's got two months, the wife got a life sentence of pain and misery. It finished her Police career. She has not claimed a thing though and got on with it. I on the other hand could not after my accident. I have paid a hell of a lot more tax than the average "employee" when I became an employer after leaving the "job". But everyone who qualifies is entitled and I don't think anyone should be in front of any queue or get any special treatment. You see, you appear to have lost the plot. Whether it is a value or moral that is fought, debated or worked for we are supposed to live in a compassionate society.
Would you prefer the disabled a left to stave to death. Of that women should be property of their husbands and be done with how they see fit, or kids are put to work at 8 or 9? I don't suppose you do! This is because most of our sensible society see that anyone who is in need gets help. There is a line a modern and caring society should have crossed and your thinking in my opinion is outdated and I can only assume you are in full health and have not needed to draw on the system that is there as a safety net. When you do, I suppose you may change you view!
The mobility scheme is not perfect, but the days of the blue three wheelers are thankfully gone. I agree with more stringent checks but not at the cost of persecuting those in need.
Disability should not be a life of Hell or purgatory!0 -

I don't need you, or anyone else to use emotional blackmail, and I certainly don't need you or indeed anyone else to take me seriously or otherwise. What is this juvenile comment """ Would you prefer the disabled a left to stave to death. Of that women should be property of their husbands and be done with how they see fit, or kids are put to work at 8 or 9?"" carp ?
You and your good lady were in the service of the country, and like me, you knew the risk when you signed the dotted line. I was in one of the 5 civvi services for over a decade after demob and I can tell you stories about the coppers / water squirters / coastguard / ambulance etc too. but you know there is just a very small difference. Raoul Moat and Derek Bird didn't come after you and your good lady with the same kind of assets. Assets that would obliterate / melt your town along with your personal self.
Grow up .. .. your comments are spurious, that's not argument, but abuse of argument. """ Got a wife who has had three / etc """ is just one more person of millions finding a way to tell a story.
""" Disability should not be a life of Hell or purgatory! "" - agreed - show me where I said it should !
""" Armed Services are not the only people in the country who serve or seved it """ - agreed. Local councillors with their free patio's / cheap mortgages & loans etc also are in service of the country. National politicians with their moats & duck houses are also in service of the country.
This section of the forum should be about helping disabled people get every penny that they are entitled to within the rules. Not bending the rules to achieve what you were / are not entitled to. That's ' street rules ' a chav society that will encourage you to by-pass the leccy meter to get free leccy or use a paid~for~medical opinion to get a blue badge. The result of that thinking is that the bent rules will win and the truly deserving will lose funding or their deserved rights.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. No emotional blackmail inferred! Not everything is black and white, same as a small number of claims are iffy!
Your tone and cynical attitude is wrong. Is it that you are not happy you don't get the same? Are you Frankie Boyle in disguise? (only joking!)
I agree there appear on the face of it, claims that look wrong and people are on the take all the time, but this is a forum for people to ask advice, not get shot down for claiming! For some this is the first port of call for advice. For others, it is somewhere for them to turn as a last resort.
You just appear to want to have a go about tax payers......blah, blah, blah. We all pay tax, even those who are unemployed and claiming.0 -
Brassedoff,
A large number of claims are iffy / not small. I personally know of three good walkers ' workie tickets ' who were in full receipt of DLA who have been bumped off and had their car taken away in the last three months. I've known them for almost three score years and there is / was nowt [ under the then and now DLA criteria ] wrong with them.
I said in a~n~other post I may get all / some / none of the benefits in question .. .. .. """ happy you don't get the same """ .. .. is that a leading question constable ?
Can I suggest you have a general re-read of this section of the forum and take a fair view on whether individuals are seeking an ' alternative ' way of getting what they want, and in the particular the kind of alternative advice and support offered by some [STRIKE]workie tickets[/STRIKE] posters. :beer:Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. Do they stop elderly people with cars having it too?
What does DLA have to do with Mobility allowance?
DLA doesn't qualify you for a car as far as I know.
Are some councils saying elderly people with Motorbility cars can't use their buses? What happens if someone wants to take them on a bus in their wheelchair?
Must say, it seems odd to have a Motorbility car, and want to use the bus though, but I suppose it depends on where they're going> There might be parking problems.0 -

Oooh! And I suppose the secret police kidnapped you off the street, put you in uniform, and sent you off to war?
You wouldn't be one of those too thick to get a job, so joined the army would you? One of those who couldn't survive without living off the state? (Yes, I'll join the Army, just don't ask me to be a soldier.) Are you on benefits now by any chance.0
