Ebay bullies

Give me a refund and I will keep the goods you will send me the right one and not report you to ebay!!!!!!! I accidentaly sent the wrong item, asked to return and I would pay postage to return and then send right one out.
We made the same mistake recently, by sending two people each other's items (labelling mistake). We simply told them to keep the items we had sent in error as a goodwill gesture, and then re-sent the items they originally ordered. It's a pain, but it's a small loss for what was our mistake.
Now these were £5 items like yours; if it was anything too expensive I would probably just offer them a partial discount on return of the goods.0 -
Yes when I become a top rated seller I have noticed that scammers increase in number. I like the Top rated seller idea but it does have its down falls.
B**ger the git has now left me negative feedback - DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER, NOT HELPFUL OR HONEST
Looks like I will have to contact ebay now.
God you cannot beat peoples attitudes on ebay. Customer now blocked.
Come here phone and dial the magic number!!!!!Lifes a !!!!! and then you marry one:D0 -

And then you could increase the price of the ones they did not have the belt accordingly, as I expect it would add value?
Unfortunately I can see why they'd think you had tried to rip them off, unfortunately so many sellers do.

I have explained to them that they are exactly the same but they have the one with the built in belt (it cant be removed). I just do not know where some people get their attitudes from. You wouldn't act like this in M&S or even Amazon.
We have now compramised and they will accept a refund of the postage and keep the jeans.
What was your response like? Anything that could have got their back up, even inadvertently?
Buyers are a delicate species and need to be handled with care

Sigh! Yet another buyer who thinks they can get something for free by threatening an honest seller with bad feedback - more and more stories about this type of thing every day. I hope there is such a thing as karma and these scummy, chavvy, theiving buyers get what they deserve one day!

...yes, it might be an uphill battle but it only takes a few moments and doesn't cost anything. Worth a try surely?0 -
c'mon selling on ebay is not like going to war.
people have been trying to steal from/scam sellers/retailers forever, and 'shrinkage' is part and parcel of selling stuff to other human beings (being someone shoplifting, using forged banknotes etc etc).
People here have probably got fed up with hearing this from me, but the fewer rights you give buyers, the fewer people will feel safe enough on ebay to be wanting to part with their cash.
If you want a scam-free site ebid is perfect, no rights for buyers=no buyers=no scammers
I'll stay where the scammers are...0 -
LOL - it feels like it sometimes! :rotfl:terra_ferma wrote: »c'mon selling on ebay is not like going to war.
I agree with what you are saying - it would just be nice if the playing field could be evened up slightly without affecting buyers.terra_ferma wrote: »people have been trying to steal from/scam sellers/retailers forever, and 'shrinkage' is part and parcel of selling stuff to other human beings (being someone shoplifting, using forged banknotes etc etc).

Buyers take an awful lot of risks too, particularly because it seems that very few sellers fully apply DSR (and non-business sellers don't have to).
When I buy on ebay I'm always mindful that if there is a problem with the item I'm likely to end up having to pay return postage, while most online shops offer free returns even if you simply change your mind (and all do if the item is faulty).
Ebay has no way of forcing business sellers to implement DSR, so in a way it's a level playing field, as sellers can get away with effectively scamming buyers.
eBay works because most sellers and most buyers are genuine, honest people who will fulfil their part of the bargain0 -
Selling on ebay does have it's risks....and I agree, it does rely on the fact that most people are honest.
HOWEVER, sadly I have resorted to sending EVERYTHING even if it sold at 99p via 2nd class recorded and do you know what?? I have not have had ONE item not received case where I was recceiving an average of 5 for every 20 items sold.....just goes to show you that the number of dishonest people is higher than we would like to believe - whether that is down to the post office or buyers.
The other thing I have found is that don't do things via email....as you say, people are happy to hide behind a PC screen. Pick up the phone and speak to them you can get the number from the buyer contact page. I sold a pair of Gucci shoes that the buyer wanted to return (to be fair it was my fault, listed as the wrong size) so I agreed the refund. When they came back, they were minus the dustbags which can have a significant effect on the final price and can also be sold separately. I picked up the phone, thanked them for returning them so quickly and added that the dustbags werent in the envelope, would the buyer mind forwarding them so that I could issue the refund? The buyer was surprised to get a phone call from me and agreed to post them the next day - the cynic in me wonders if I would have had the same response on email......
I don't think ebay will be able to help you I'm afraid - their policy is "the buyer is always right" so report them for their threatening/bullying behaviour and forward on all their emails but stick to your guns and say a refund will be given once the item is returned. You are under no obligation to pay the return postage oddly enough and if they have left you neg fb already then they have no intention of being reasonable. Reply to it saying you are sorry buyer wasn't happy (also check what fb they have left for other people - can be an eyeopener sometimes!!) and then block them.....pretty much all you can do and chalk it down to experience
Good luck xxxxx0
