Morning all, is the coffee on?

I didn't want to drag the contract advice thread off track but I've been wondering...

This "not responding to our email is implicit acceptance" thing seems to work to the advantage of the companies concerned yet presumably complies with relevant regs if so stated in their T&C's.

Which can be upsetting for someone whose "contact email" either wasn't actually sent, or got diverted into the recipient's junk mail folder.

    So the question is:-

Is there a case for the T&C's and the contact emails to include links that the recipient should/must respond to, as in a "yes I accept" link and a "no, please cancel" link... AND...

If neither link is used within 14(?) days then the company has to bite the bullet and contact that person by snail mail.

    ?

As Mark Hewitt said, it's very likely to say in the contract "Should a price increase be implemented, you will be contacted via email and given 14 days to cancel. After 14 days, you will be deemed to have accepted the new T&Cs"

Seems fair to me. I don't want my bills going up even more should they have to write to every customer instead. email is a perfectly acceptable form of communication.
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

    But guv... :)

I'm not saying that they should write to every customer. I'm asking if they "should" write to those (hopefully few) who don't respond to the email?

Which will be about 99% of them! Not much of a difference.

:) You're wa-a-ay too late anyway. Happy hour finished ages ago.

    BUT...

Since you're the first customer of the evening have one on the house. What'll it be?
