We also have a bag, sorry cant remember the make (but I could have a look if you wanted me too). I do remember it cost about £100 from Towsure a couple of years ago. Its shaped like a roof box and has metal bars down the length of the base. You simply bolt it onto the roof bars and when you are done it folds up into a fairly small storage bag. We dont have a garage so didnt want something that took up loads of room.
It is completely waterproof, we have been through some really bad weather with it and it has never leaked. I dont think it has quite the capacity of my brother's roof box but is fantastic for extra space on holiday.0 -
For anyone interested ours is a Purple Line Stowaway Roof Bag - and you can pick them up for £50 at the moment, just google Stowaway Roof Bag. Definitely worth the money.0

I don't suppose you've considered taking less stuff with you and washing it while you're away?
If it's buggies you need space for you could buy one cheaply once you're there, would be cheaper than shelling out hundreds for a roofbox...
Of course it depends on where you're going... I know that when I went camping years back the guy's Dad had a 4 man tent, a two man tent for me and all the cooking gear, clothes etc and fit it all into a mark I Escort boot.:rotfl: There were quite a few carrier bags with clothes stuck around footwells though.;)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Since cheapo airlines have started charging for luggage, we make do with 2 X cabin bags, it is amazing how little we really need.

It's a bit fiddly to set up the first time, but once done it clamps to you roof bars.
I usually throw over a couple of extra straps just to be safe.0 -

On a holiday to Snowdonia, our lodge had a washer dryer. So after a bath/shower in the evening, I put our clothes in for a wash/dry. For the whole week I wore the same jeans, socks, boxers, t-shirt, fleece.Didn't even need to pack/unpack.
