Now Sol has been in contact as vendors Sol wants contract back! Still, they still might go through the necessary surveys etc and still pull out!

Good news! Hope it all works out. I am going through a similar problem with the house purchase - so good luck to us both!0 -

Hi, we are going through a mortgage advisor and have been waiting a while for our offer to come through. We completed the application for an Abbey mortgage on March 2nd after not hearing anything for a few weeks I contacted the mortgage advisor. He checked and then said Abbey requested more payslips etc which we handed in to the MA on 7th April, 2 days later. Have rung 3 times last week and twice this week to see how it was going, then had a call from EA chasing up our offer as the people we are buying off of want to arrange their valuation but do not want to until ours is done. MA keeps saying their internet keeps going down and Abbey's has been down today so cannot check the status but will come back to me. Is this too long to be waiting for an offer to come through? Getting a bit anxious now as we are buying and selling and this is now holding up our chain.0

I've just logged in to Abbey for Intermediaries, just to see if it let me in and it was fine.
Payslips sent on 7 April should have been dealt with by now, so the case should be prepared for offer unless a further requirement has been identified and the case has been referred back for a message to your broker.
Seven weeks is a long time for an application to get to the stage where payslips still aren't sorted.
I'd think about nipping down to the broker's office and asking him to show you Abbey online to see for yourself. Cheeky, but fair!

Thank you for your reply. Our MA never seems to have internet access which is concerning to me, I asked them today if they could call the Abbey instead and they said not reallly as they need to answer security questions which they need access to the internet to find! Starting to loose faith with the MA really. I will do what you suggest and go down there if they haven't rung me in the morning with a status. I think the worst part is not knowing what is going on with the application especially now this is holding us up. Thanks :-)0

Ask your adviser to nip round to your house with his three access codes and he should be able to get on Abbey intermediaries using your computer.
Here's the link for him;-

Just don't try it using Chrome - it hates it and at the moment every site is crashing Flashplayer.

hi thought id pop in and say that i had an offer off santander yesterday, 11 weeks after submitting the application.
it seemed they wanted every little bit of information from me, but we got there in the end and the valuer came out straight away and the offer was made less than 24 hours late. i thought i was going to go mad at the time, but its been worth the waitoops, ive spent to much!0 -
Really wish I hadn't gone through a mortgage company. I rung Abbey Intermediates direct this morning to see if the system was actually down and they said it was. After another call from the EA with a concerned seller I rung the Abbey again who confirmed the system was back up but slow so I have told MA to try again (not sure why I am constantly prompting) EA asked if we had a mortgage agreement in principle, not to my knowledge so asked the MA who thinks we do and will try and find it. I’m hoping this will re-assure the seller who is getting anxious as am I. If MA doesn’t ring back in the next few hours I will personally go down there and have them check the MATs system while I stand there. Grrrr!0
