I can't comprehend how your feeling! We are in the same boat but our application was only put in last friday and the survey is this afternoon! I'm feeling really nervous at the moment waiting for our offer to hopefully arrive. But like I said it's only been a week not a month!
Good luck to you!!0 -

How have you got that done so quickly?????0 -
When I saw I HOUNDED them, I mean I HOUNDED them!
I told everyone right from the start that I needed to complete for the 31st of March and all agreed that they would do it.
We are buying a new build and the builders are taking ours in part exchange. That has made it easier as it only 2 different solicitors dealing with each other.0 -
Spoke too soon. Just recieve a new illustration from Nationwide based on the valued price (£15k less than purchase pice) PLUS a 10k retention for roof, damp, timber and bug infestation. All other bits were picked up on survey before (apart from bug infestation) and we have quotes and kept back enough money to pay for them. Weren't banking on a reduction in value though! Sellers are unlikely to move on price as we tried before based on roof works needed! Will try again though!
I do appreciate this isn't Nationwide's faulth though!
Very fed up, tired, desperate and upset. We have paid out so much so far and looks like we will have to walk away from the only house we both love (searching for 8 months)
Any advice?0 -

Really sorry to hear that
We got our mortgage offer through yesterday and that had £2k retention, so not too bad. It was still a shock after the lady on the phone said "you've had the survey and everything was fine"?!
I think that the sellers are going to have to compromise, as the same problem will crop up with most people looking to buy the house, so they may as well continue with you!! I would fight hard to keep the house.
Good luck and keep us posted
