Sofa bigger than the property door

I went to IKEA last week and saw some sofa which were bigger than the property entrance I am renting in and that sofa cannot be disassembled.
Interestingly there is already 2 sofas in my rented property and I was wondering how on earth did they get that in the property if the entrance door was not big enough.
Any clue!

Sometimes they take the windows out. This is what a tenant of mine did once!0

all sofas will fit into 99% of houses.
theres a simple knack of getting them in. either at an angle, or upright and twisting them.
very rarely do windows or door frames need to come out.Get some gorm.0 -
We have a reclining sofa that is very big, but it comes apart quite easily.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

has same problem a few years ago - after harveys failed to deliver - went to reids and bought a sofa and chairs without measuring them - got them home and couldnt get them in at all. someone suggested a removal firm might do it - and they did - free of charge but gave them £20 each anyways. it is all about the anglesYou cant take the trousers off an elephant!0

I have two sofas which will not fit through my front door. I had a different door when I bought them, replaced it with a uPVC door which has a much smaller frame. To get them out I will need to break them up. I did get a quote for removing the window but it was quite expensive as they wanted to come out and remove it, then come back to put it back in later and it would be about £200.0

A lot of IKEA's furniture (including a sofa I owned previously) comes apart, so you may be able to get the sofa in afterall! Why not ask someone at IKEA when you are next there?:A Thanks to all the lovely people who contribute their advice! :A0

Our sofas are the reclining type and the backs are easily removed and replaced without any tools. We were told in the shop that they are deliberately made this way to solve the front door problem - otherwise they wouldn't sell.
