Apple Finance Agreement

I'm going to take the batteries out of my calculator, put a blindfold on and put a pen between my toes to write with and I'll see how I get on in my new career of accountancy. It seems the bar is not too high so maybe I can do it whilst im in bed, just periodically rolling onto the keyboard to do my sums.0

Good news guys, after 3 calls to apple over the past 2days Apple have agreed to take back the laptop, scrap the agreement. Lucky I had "no morals" and dared to ask the question. Leaving it back today... Note to self... Never take advice from sarcastic a-holes who are afraid to stand up for themselves, they are the idiots who bend over and take it in the !!! from lenders, and that's y they are on sites like this asking where did all my money go.
I appreciate those you who tried to help, and thanks for that. To the rest, keep your mouth shut and perhaps open it over the phone to the companies to which you owe money as opposed to using ur keyboard and mouse to abuse someone who just asked advise.
If you need any money advice, drop me an email guys, il sort it out, and I only charge £30 an hour.0 -
Hello,
My god you were lucky. This wasn't a case of "standing up for yourself" (as you had no rights in this issue), but of Apple absorbing your mind-change out of goodwill. I think it is important to make the distinction, as the advice here was correct - two separate agreements (one to buy a laptop, one to take a loan) all actioned, just a small technical glitch with one of them does not make them both unenforceable. Just worth noting for the future!
Out of interest, what *kind* of accountancy are you engaged in? If you're a qualified statutory accountant doing £30/hr, then I know some people who may take you up on limited company annual returns at £250ish!0 -
From the way i see it, apple botched the agreement. In the first instance they didnt fill out the forms correctly, and second, they submitted to Barclays incorrectly. I do feel sorry for the guy that sold me the laptop in the 1st place, because he may be responsible and could suffer as a result. I do realise that Apple could have taken a different stance on it, and out of goodwill made me the offer, there are not many other companies, if any, that would offer such a hassle free and friendly service. The key point was that i knew what i was talking about, and the manager knew that, so rather than try to mess around, he took the hit of a few hundred pounds to keep a customer happy.
BTW, im a qualified management accountant through CIMA. I work for a large manufacturing company in the Republic of Ireland. I also do some personel financial accounts for the bosses other business entitys for a few extra £.
Alls well that ends well

It is a cruel irony to write a post calling people 'idiots' and then spelling a simple word like advice wrong.
Incidentally, a lot of the 'sarcastic a-holes' are such because they could not fathom getting into such a pointless situation over something like a laptop. I would open my mouth over the phone to the companies to which I owe money if there were any. Apart from £70 on a credit card that is paid off every month I owe no company anything. Though in my mind that is quite irrelevant as people are only pointing out the blitheringly obvious, not going into advanced accounts here.
'Keep your mouth shut' is also excellent customer service and demonstrates your amazing interpersonal skills which perfectly compliment how overpoweringly astute you are with your finances. Ever considered international relations?0 -

Only £30 an hour? I earn more than that just for agreeing to look at a laptop, my accountant charges way more. If your on such good money why would you not jsut be able to afford to pay cash for your macbook?0 -
If Apple hadn't done the agreement properly, then they have not choice but to accept the return. They could not get the funds from Barclays, they could ask you to resign or to pay, but if you walked into the Apple store, and left the laptop with them and what could they do? Take you to court - but they have the iten purchased. Go to the police for theft? - but they have the item purchased.
Well done for sorting it out.0 -
