well it was always gunna end this way it couldnt be sustained even by a massive company by Tesco. Anyhow Ill still be partaking just on smaller amounts spend on dtd to get back £20 and then buy comparable items to make it a £30 spend and use co-op voucher as well. I have lost £20 but overall gained and had some fun doing it so cant complain

for people that have printed off vouchers before them being capped at £20 are they the same barcode? if so those with higher vouchers already printed won't be able to use them anyway

I have a voucher for £42.76 but if i go to print it again it shows as £20 and yes the barcode is the same so it will only scan at £20. Whether or not they will be prepared to override it, i don't know.

Tesco are really taking advantage of customers-i am not really computer savvy but anyone who is-should set up a twitter feed&facebook page about this,so it goes viral. Tesco should honour vouchers already issued.
Another thing every change is in their favour-maybe time to start quoting Unfair Contract Terms 1977.

I have a voucher for £111.56 printed at home from the weekend. Will they still honour that?

And we wonder why they cap the offer at 20 quid.

To be honest I am not surprised they have done this, I dont think you will get any solution talking to customer services, as has been said there T&Cs state they can be changed at any time with out notice.

I do agree they should honour receipts entered yesterday, and only apply the new cap to new vouchers, but oh well, just keep rolling your £20 voucher.

I was only due a £15 voucher today, so I am not out of pocket so not as upset as most on here.
  • 30 minutes On hold and I have been told the terms changed yesterday so tough wotsits. Use the voucher Or return the shopping!

UPDATE FOR EVERYONE WITH OLD VOUCHERS FOR MORE THAN £20

just rang and explained i printed it off last week and have not been in since, she said yes it was still valid. I asked for her name and she logged on her computer how much the voucher was worth (£97.53 - how embarassing!) and said if i have any problems to get the store to ring them. she gave me her name, her managers name, a reference number and said she had logged it so anyone can see it if they ring up. I would advise doing the same before you shop, just incase.

Not great with words but if anyone wants to send something like this?

    Dear Sir/Madam

I am sending you this correspondence in regards to your highly publicised price check promotion in which you proudly proclaim that we the customer will find our shopping at Tesco to be cheaper than that of your competitor Asda or you will give us double the difference. It has come to my attention that although you have made a big and bold promise to your customers that you are now changing the terms and conditions quite significantly. It would appear that Tesco are now not quite as confident in their big bold statement as they seemed previously. I am assuming that if price check shows a difference in excess of £10 between the two stores and a now capped voucher of £20 is issued that Tesco will be willing to accept refunds on all items shown to be significantly over priced in comparison? After all you are currently offering to show the customer just how much they are being "ripped off" and yet have backed away from your original price check guarantee. I propose that a formal statement on this matter be issued and all price check promotional material be removed/suspended until this matter is reviewed by trading standards- after all you are not prepared to honour price check receipts obtained and/or submitted prior to the change in T&C's. I wonder what Asda will make of this issue and am sending a copy of this email to their CEO as well as yourself- after all "every little helps",

    I await your prompt response,

    Kind regards

    Sorry nuttygal, missed your email.

Not trying to step on your toes! :)
