ME evil? Surely I am entitled to my opinion which would be the same if I worked for Tesco or not. I am just saying that some people are excessively greedy when it comes to something like this therefore spoiling it for other people. Sorry if I have hit a raw nerve but that is not my fault is it?

You didn't hit a raw nerve, you are commenting on people's shopping habits in the store you work in and it is none of your business. Your employer makes the rules not you.

You chose to post in this thread in what would seem a confrontational manner - not the brightest thing to do.

Sorry, but that response is utterly uncalled for. You may not agree with her post (neither do I), but that is no way to respond!

Then tell me how do you respond to this type of jobsworth person?

She?He obviously doesn't like people to save money,he/ she talks down to people who use vouchers that are legit thinking we are all thieves, how dare he/ she speak like that and I bet he/she is lousy at her job!

You treat people like that, please do not be offended if who ever is doing so gets the same treatment back

And yes my response is a little heavy, AND I will apologise for that!

  • I have to agree with the others I am afraid Little Miss Tesco. Customer services are supposed to be friendly and helpful and a credit to the company, not making up names for regular shoppers, calling the criminals and telling customers that we are wrong for buying items that aren't cheaper. Tesco have promised to be the cheapest supermarket and if not to offer dtd vouchers. I would think the name calling and keeping your own personal records of a person's shopping habits is something that Tesco would want to take action against.

  • Do any of you actually think that what you are doing is wrong? I work on CSD at Tesco and have noticed that "coupon woman" is back with a vengance!! I took note of what she had bought/ was buying and EVERY item on a £70 shop was comparable with Asda meaning she would get almost every penny back in voucher form. The difference between now and back then (when she used to total up her shopping to the last penny in fraudulent vouchers) is that back then she actually used to buy things she needed, now she is obsessed with the fact she can get free bottles of Baileys and tubs of Lurpak. I love a bargain myself and am quite tempted to put the odd dtd item in my trolley when doing my big shop but the greed of some people is sure to spoil this for others pretty soon.

I agree that it is wrong for people to use their vouchers to further claim vouchers ad infinitum knowingly going way beyond the £100 per household limit. By involving yourself in such a promotion, you should be prepared to abide by the terms of the promotion.

Taking the goods off the shelf in a such a fashion that the individual has no intention of paying for them is effectively shoplifting. Just because you have a piece of paper to hide behind doesn't change that.

However, I see nothing wrong with involving yourself in the promotion and claiming up to the maximum in vouchers that the promotion allows.

By 'Voucher Woman', I presume she is a previously 'known' customer who was, what, caught trying to use home made vouchers? Something like that? And I get the impression from what you've said that 'Voucher Woman' is doing what I describe in my first paragraph.

Nope if Tesco is going to make this offer and run it this way then they deserve all thats coming, not like they can't afford it with their £3.4BN profit last year.

Agree that some are going to spoil it but that's just the nature of the beast no good bleating on about it (no offence)

Perhaps instead of greed you could replace that with desperation, £1.40/litre fuel, electricity prices going sky high again followed by gas, services cut, bus subsidy gone (along with the bus) incurance going through the roof, food costs going mad (£4 for 24 pack of crisps I saw in Tesco yesterday as an example, I know you don't need to buy them!).

People are hurting and cutting luxuries like wine/baileys, crisps etc so when something like this happens and you can get them for almost nothing what do you think is going to happen.

There's a real simple way to stop this happening, make damn sure your prices are as low as Asda instead of hiding behind BOGOFs B2G1F etc.

I suggest that £19.19 for 1L of baileys was a rip off in the first place and they had it coming to be honest with you.

    Here here!!
I dont think anyone is being greedy just treating ourselves.
Also I know a lot of us have actually donated the money we saved to children in need last night. I for one wouldnt have been able to donate so much otherwise.

No I don't think what we're doing is wrong. Almost everything i bought was given back in vouchers and I'm damn proud of myself.

you didnt just say people were greedy you mentioned one particular person who you obviously "have your eye on" all we are saying is that its none of your business what people buy in your store...your job is to help customers not make judgements on them and you havent hit a raw nerve...WE ARE DOING NOTHING WRONG...which bit of that dont you understand???

Let's be fair for a second. It would take me less than ten minutes to find three posts from different users all celebrating how they've got vouchers that they know they are not entitled to. A lot of people on here have, and are using, vouchers that have not been earned legitimately.

I fail to see what is "wrong" with this. IMO tesco issued a challenge to Asda claiming that they are cheaper and are prepared to back this up with a dtd promise. They're not cheaper on a lot of items and people are buying these items to gain an advantage in a recession. If tesco wants to have a macho measuring up contest with Asda then it's gonna have to "raise it's game" ;)

From another perspective we're actually highlighting to tesco the areas in which they need to price match more effectively so in a round about way we're actually helping them ;)
