if they were taking it down though, surely they would have taken the main page off (the one with the date). Why leave that if it's not even gonna work? also, the fact that nobody received vouchers yesterday, makes me think they may have just had technical difficulties in the 'office'? because you'd think they'd just issue the vouchers that had already been submitted, before stopping it. so i'm still hopeful, just impatient!! i need my fix!!!!!

I see your point, but they may have held off giving the vouchers to people as the site was not taken down until yesterday evening, if they had sent all the vouchers out at 11am as they had been doing then everybody would have gone back to Tescos, spent their vouchers and would have resubmitted a new receipt! This way they only have to release the vouchers they already have.

Also, the price checker itself is no longer on the tesco price checker website (as it had been previously).

hmm, yeah your right! aslong as i do get my voucher i will be happy(ish). but how can anybody trust the price checker if they dont have it online? because anybody could go onto asda website and check prices, then go shopping at tesco and items they know are cheaper, but then tesco could just turn around and say 'Not found' to every item that is dearer than asda

This is the problem, it appears that tesco T&Cs state that they will compare comparable items (being no more than 10% different in size or weight - same brand, etc), but obviously if it hasnt been on their pricechecker then they have not given DTD, so in theory Tescos can now just say what they like. There is nothing there to hold them to account if you could have paid a cheaper price in Asda.

If the price checker is down then i would say, and i do not think i am alone in thinking this, that the tescos DTD offer is dead and buried. Nobody should trust it if they have nothing comparing their own prices!

I think people should stop over reacting there is no way they will have pulled this offer.

Im not overreacting, i dont think the offer has been pulled, i think the price checker website has been pulled to stop people from only shopping for DTD items they know they can claim on. They are well within their rights to do so, it just means its not really that trustworthy! :o

i wouldnt have thought tesco would have even noticed that some people are 'abusing' it though. when i handed over a £57 voucher yesterday, the woman on checkout was really shocked and said 'how did you manage that? (not being funny, just wanted to know so she could do it lol) and showed to another member of staff who'd come over to see how to put them throught as she'd never seen one, and they were both shocked and said there comparison had come up cheaper at tesco so got nothing. I didnt say anything, just laughed, then she clicked on why didnt want the bogof's etc and said she was gonna try it next time. tand the time before that i used a £10 voucher and the woman on the checkout then had never seen one, neither had the woman on the next till, so she shouted someone over and she'd never seen one either. this was the day before yesterday. so they dont seem too common, so you wouldnt think tesco would have noticed yet?
