Ditching TalkTalk

after 2 months with TT and numerous problems i've decided to cut my losses and cancel my contract, need a bit of advice though...
i've got my landline through TT (ie I pay my line rental to them, not BT) Will i have to switch back to BT before i can connect to a new BB provider?
sorry if this has been covered somewhere before but i can't find it cos my internet connection keeps cutting out

Looks like another lesson learned - the hard way!
Something similar was discussed here.
Within the link above is another link where apparently TalkTalk have agreed to waive the minimum 18month contract for those that have had serious problems.
If you already have broadband, etc then it's harder to get out of their 18month contract. If, however, you don't have bb and have had broken promises from TT then you could get out of the 18month contract.0 -
not too bothered by the cancellation charge tbh, just wasn't sure whether i had to change the landline back to bt or just cancel the bb aspect of it.
from looking at most BB providers sites they all require a BT line, and although my phone line was originally BT, i now pay my line rental to TT so does it still count as a BT line or not?

Unless you go for an ISP that also wants to take over your line rental, you can keep your line rental with TalkTalk and still use ISPs that state BT line required.
Though not having a TT line and going back to BT for line rental opens up the choice of phone call providers that can save you money, and also get caller display for free. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
thanks Bex

don't make many calls from my landline anyway, its primarily for broadband.Wiggly:heartpulsFB0
