I think verticals are more practical than venetian ones. They don't need dusting or cleaning like venetian ones do, and my dogs can push their heads through without them getting stuck :D
Here I go again on my own....
  • Vertical blinds are horrid, don't go there!

    All personal preference isn't it?

Got venetian/vertical/roller/bamboo/roller and roman in different rooms. Must get those curtains put back up in the living room too!...

...have to say I don't have any nets though...

I think vertical blinds are horrid. I quite like roller blinds and if you use very fine plain 'lace' curtains they too can look really nice. They don't always have to be snowy white either, a creamy white it some rooms work very well depending on your colours. + They're very much cheaper to dress a room than either type of blind if you're selling.

I have vertical at my sitting room and dining room windows and venetian in the bedrooms.
I would love voils or nets but the sitting room gets the sun from mid-day and in the summer and the blinds are closed from then as I don't like closing curtains during the day.
I had venetian blinds in the sitting and dining room but hated cleaning them as I have large windows.

I have vertical blinds in my kitchen , windows and patio doors.. I have them completely pulled back in the daytime but they are fantastic insulators , in the summer they can keep the sun from making the room too hot and in winter I pull them over at dusk and they keep the room warm.. they are heat reflecting , couldn't have material curtains in the kitchen as they would get very YUKKY......

Venetian blinds are a !!!!!! to clean........... mine I can wash a few at a time in the sink then just drip dry them and put back up.... I have only had to wash them once in 3 yrs....

  • Horrid horrid horrid. They look like they are for an office. They also look cheap.
  • I think you can find some nice vertical blinds if you look around. Or you can get a different type. I can advise you to visit a web shop where I got my blinds - it's https://www.rolo-europa.co.uk I found some very nice ones there.
