Read the advice given, no network guarantees 100% coverage,it's up to you to check before you sign up.
OFCOM will not even consider your case until you have reached an agreed deadlock-you haven't even begun that process yet, and it will take weeks.
can you explain what you mean by deadlock. The managers are refusing to do anything now and said to go to trading standards/ofcom if i dont like it. They were very rude as well. Didn't exactly appreciate that they ignored 2 of my emails. I'll never go with orange again!0 -
Have you gone through the official complaints procedure? This has to be in writing, and not via email/phone.
But as everyone else has already advised, your case is completely futile regardless, you failed to check the reception before you took out the contract. No free lunch, and no free laptop

any idea where I would write to? Yes but my point was that their online signal checker says there was signal and there is not. Surely that can be viewed as misleading?0 -
how to make a complaint ?any idea where I would write to?
It could if it was 3 months ago when you bought the contract, not now when you started having problems after changing your job.Yes but my point was that their online signal checker says there was signal and there is not. Surely that can be viewed as misleading?0 -
If its is a large enough area and not just a small or indoor blackspot you are actually correct - the UK networks are terrible for this and my experience in AU was quite different I got into 2 contracts with 2 networks with same issues and after a complaint to the Telecommunications Industry Ombusman (Ofcom outsourced ours to third party ADR's who get paid by the network for the complaint process - biased!) & I got £500+ of charges refunded & closed then when I went to the third AU network I got service !! It was the smallest - 3/Voda AU (a joint company) This was inner Sydney city !any idea where I would write to? Yes but my point was that their online signal checker says there was signal and there is not. Surely that can be viewed as misleading?
The whole mobile external complaints system in UK is biased towards telco's - there is no actual impartiality since Ofcom outsourced our telecoms ombusman to third party-paid by telco-ADR's.
And our politicians allowed such to happen !!! Welcome to GREAT Britain......SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe

No, because the postcode checkers cannot be 100% reliable. If there is a big building between you and the mast, or you live in a valley, there may be black spots. The only reliable way to check is to try a SIM in the actual location.
Did you not think of asking any of your work colleagues if they could get a signal on Orange? No free lunch, and no free laptop

what do you do if they ignore this? They've ignored 2 emails so far, just sent a 3rd. I get the feeling that if they are ignoring emails, they'll also ignore letters.0 -
Just send the letter by a recorded post. Then if they don't reply complain to the ombudsman end enclose the proof of delivery. As simple as that.
You can try doing the same enclosing copies of the e-mails.0 -

Thanks!
It's not so much the fact that they wont release me thats annoying me so much. Its the fact that their way of dealing with a problem is ignoring it.
I'd be more than willing to negotiate a deal with them so as they don't make a loss but their customer service has been absolutely appalling.0
