...this contract ...was opened in London! I have never lived in London, ... Who ever opened this account used my ...old address,Have now checked my credit history, and have found another contract with O2 also opened in London under my name. Experian have written letters asking for these to be taken of my record, but even they haven't been able to help me.Orange ...sent me a letter with my address,Infact this whole thing has put me off getting a contract phone in the future.0

The police are often useless in this situation because nobody has committed fraud against you.
If someone uses your name to commit fraud against orange, then the police see it as Orange's problem not yours.
(Which doesn't help with the credit agenies and the like I know).0 -
Have contacted the police, and thats exactly what they have said to me, and have suggested I contact Orange directly. However Orange will not speak to me with regards to this contract in London, as I do not have all the details to give them since I have did not take out the contract. They suggest I go to the debt collector. It just seems like I keep going around in circles, and in the mean time someone is using my details.
At first I thought Orange made a mistake, but now that O2 also have a contract out in my name it can't be. Experian are writing to O2 on my behalf to alert them that I have not authorised this contract to be opened in my name, as yet I haven't received any debt letters from O2, just Orange.
When looking at past forums, it does seem alot of people seem to have had a simular problem to me with Global Arrow, so it's not that uncommon.
I gets me angry with the amount of hours that I have spent on the phone to both Orange and Global Arrow and have got nowhere, very frustrating, and just want this whole thing to go away. My credit rating is 999, and do not want that to get ruined because of this!
The way I see it, I can't proof it's not me, because I don't have any of the details of these contracts. The only thing I can proof is that the two addresses used in London I have never lived at.
The letter that Orange sent me, was for the contract I took out with them at my old address. I wanted in writing that this contract had finished and that there was nothing outstanding on it. But they sent the letter in a different name, but with all my details on it, apart from the correct name!
Still waiting for the correct letter to be sent.0 -
Follow the internal complaints procedure at Orange (and O2 if necessary). Don't waste your time on telephone calls unless you manage to get the call escalated to a higher level. Complain in writing via either e-mail or recorded mail. Sorry, but I think that with your writing skills you need some assistance. Try your local Citizens Advice Bureau.0

Thanks for the advice!
Sorry writing skills not up to scratch either, I did have a screaming child hanging onto me at the time.
I can assure you all I need is advice in the right direction, as I am more than capable of handling the rest!
The good news is, that Experian have now sent me an email to inform me they are removing both Orange and O2 off my credit history, and have now put in place further security on any future credit applications in my name. They are also writing to Arrow Global, as well as other two credit reference agencies to make them aware of my case.
Fingers crossed that this is now resolved once Arrow Global reply to their letter:j0 -
Good result.
I can relate to the screaming child thing... 6 weeks old tomorrow lol0 -
we can't get rid of them. Had 3 letters so far, rang them each time and they've accepted it's a "mis-search" and promised a confirmation letter to that effect each time. Of course nothing arrived just more letters now threatening a bailiff's coming to the house, really fed up phoning them and no idea how to stop their threats? might as well let them come around at their expense until they get it in to their thick heads its not us
is there anything legal we can do to stop the harassment?0 -
