It's the ....I've got as much right to be on the road as you" attitude, despite the fact they are pedestrians. Not sure what they're trying to prove though.
Well actually they have more right - they are there as of right - you are there by licence/concession call it what you will
Not that it's a particularly sensible thing to do0 -
Yes, there is. Oddly enough, the construction and use regulations regarding horn use do not apply to cyclists using a hand-held horn, so a good air horn would hopefully solve the OP's problem.I really hope there's a law against this sort of thing in the UK (I'm sure I'd have an accident in my trousers if someone did that to me!).0 -
I'm so glad other people experience this as well, thought it was just me! Its happened to me several times and I've had to perform an emergency stop, they look at you as if they can't believe a car driver should actually be driving down the road! All it takes is a driver to not be paying complete attention (changing a CD etc) and they could be killed (this will naturally be the driver's complete fault of course!!)
I proceed on the basis that they accept that they may be run over, and don't mind if they are. They usually continue strolling for a few steps then leap suddenly out of the way.0 -

Great shame they was banned. The sound of musical airhorn's was a late night feature of our estate. Use to cheer us up as kids to here them when your in bed!!0 -

Im going to get me one of those AirZounds, that is amazing

I am also one of these people that hates people walking in the road, so I do the dip clutch rev, but if that fails my Astra seems to have the loudest horn in the world, when people cut me up on a roundabout they know about it let alone a pedestrian walking in the road :rotfl:0 -
Haha I have done exactly that at the other end of that road (Whitworth St iirc), at work chucking out time! Its fun.Fit an AirZound to your bike (100+db). This one was being tested in Manchester http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ve7jS2XA580
