When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:T
Morning  and happy weekend :T I'm working today but am not disappointed as I love my job (weird I gave myself until April to love it again or get out and here I am!
), I'll get loads done as its always quiet on a Saturday, it seems like the days gonna brighten up, & I get to go in casge so I can wear my new red pumps!
This weekend I intend to:

- make some bread
- [STRIKE]go to body pump tomorrow[/STRIKE] (and not let membership idle away
)
- [STRIKE]free porridge at work[/STRIKE] - its almost been used up but it was good for a while
made with water, a smidge of soya milk and a spoon of sugar - trying to ween myself off and that's loads less
- and it was really yummy
- take top back for refund before its too late
- take B&Q stuff back for a refund
- [STRIKE]put up curtain track....[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]get meat out of freezer for roast tomorrow[/STRIKE] mmmmmmm
- make a cake to use up butter that needs using & make most of the oven being on tomorrow
- check thru fridge to see what needs using up pronto!
- plant some seeds
- [STRIKE]park a 2 min walk away from work rather than driving 2 miles each way round the one way system[/STRIKE]

Good morning everyone, and thanks to DNMS for starting us off today. We had a fantastic evening out but I now have a delicate tum this morning so a chilled out day is on the cards.
List so far:- checked banking
- checked for surveys
- fed and watered chickens
- phone WTC regarding odd payments
- send DH to get some shopping so he pays
- start sorting the garden to make room to grow salad stuff - everything else goes in the allotment
- spend some time in the sewing room
Making magic with fabricLight travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0 -
Morning everyone. Arrived home to find a Parking Charge Notice waiting for me, but having done some research it seems that I should be safe to ignore it. Thank heaven for this website!
Had a lovely meal out with DW last night. DD babysat for the younger ones. Tbh I think she prefers us out of the way anyway so she can have her friends round without worrying about us old fogeys :-)
Some of you may recall that DW had her card cloned and her account cleared out a week or two ago. Well the money is back in her account now so she paid for the meal, so it was a NSD for me.
Today is cloudy but dry so I'll probably risk washing out on the line
Make shopping list (meant to do this yesterday, but we were both so hungry when I got home from work that we pretty much went straight out)
Main shop at Aldi, then top up at Sainsburys only with what I can't get at Aldi
Return library books before I get fined (due day is today)
Get passport renewal forms (not very DFW but we haven't had a holiday for 3 years and really need one)
Shower using toiletries brought back from recent hotel stays
Tea and coffee that I brought back from hotel too
Check what films are on at Empire Jnrs this weekend (£1 to get in), and if suitable, I'll buy popcorn and drinks at the supermarket so I don't have to pay cinema prices
.
Go swimming if we aren't going to the pictures
Check online banking
Surveys
Have a great weekendDebt free since December 2015. It can be done0 -
