Mine went from £200, to £900, to £250 in the space of 4 weeks.

I've requested an answer three times now to why my credit limit has been reduced to zero. The first reply to was addressed to someone else (?) and referred to the fact that the balance had been reduced to my outstanding balance (0).
Since then my query has been passed from pillar to post despite me sending them a copy of my credit reports and not having questions answered

I know before anyone says it that they don't have to, but its so annoying!

    grrr

I opened a next account about 3 months ago and every month my credit limit gets reduced to zero. When account was orginally opened I only placed an order for one top then ended up returning it as it was too small and have never used the account again.

I wish they would just make a decision to either letting me have the credit or not as everytime I contact them end up putting back on again anyway. (they says it an automatic system thing and information supplied from equifax) well the funny thing about it is my credit history is better now then what it was when I actually first applied :rotfl:

Yeah mine has fluctuated quite a bit. My credit limit was taken off, i didn't realise this because i haven't really used my online account. I went confirmed my order expecting to enter my payment details, nothing happened then next minute i get a phone call saying my credit has been taken off. I wanted to pay for it anyway.

Then next time i log in my credit limit is at a mighty £8 haha

This happened to me on a few occassions, the limit went up when they were about to charge me for the catalogues that I told them I didnt want. Think it's a bit cheeky seeing as I wouldnt have been able to order from there anyway. Called Next and got a stroppy bloke who told me that Next check your credit rating every month, now I looked this up and the more they check your credit rating the lower it goes. I told them to stick their account and now I wont shop there.

They done the same to me and now they put my OH limit from 1200 to 0 and nothing has changed on her experian or equifax reports at all - we both closed the accounts, waste of time - there automated system is useless.

Must admit, I've never had a problem with Next, my credit limit has remained consistant albiet rather silly.

They allow me £3500 - I'd never spend more than £300 on it! tempting as it may be. I dread to think of the monthly interest on a balance of £3500!!
  • Hi, I know if you go into the Next stores and are buying furniture items that you can get 0% over 2 years if that helps!

Oh this really annoyed me - the fluctuating credit limit! I've been with them since 1995 had a credit limit of 4k then it dropped to whatever the balance was at the time so I couldn't order. Then I paid it off and it went up again. I rang and asked wth? and they said they now tie the credit limits to your credit score so as that fluctuates as you make applications, make payments (or don't) so does your credit limit. I was quite disgusted after 15 years of being a 'valued customer' so I paid off the balance and was going to close the account in disgust....but then I saw some shoes..... :D

Closed mine in disgust when they did this to me. God knows how many quality customers they have lost from their really awful automated "system"!
