Bottle of Buckfast?
Sorry, just kidding but my brother still seems to drink it and he's thirty. I live in England now and I really miss lots of the things already listed but also Macaroon bars (can only seem to get them when back up in Scotland), Mothers Pride Plain Bread (might not last long enough though), fruit pudding (English boyfriend can't get his head round that one), any Barrs drinks, not just Irn Bru. If he's the outdoorsy type, a Colin Prior print of a Scottish Mountain Scene or a Colin Prior desktop calendar - I get one every year, the pictures are just beautiful.0 -
The Colin Prior calendar sounds good. I'm also going to have a go about making tablet...it's the thought that counts! Love the tea towel idea too.....some brilliant ideas to make this years Scottish theme better than usual. Thanks again.January budget

My other half particulaly seems to miss Red Cola? :dunno: Now I have no idea what that is or where you can get it from but he's scottish so I guess it exists
Scottish broth? You can buy tinned stuff I thinkDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -
what about Lee's Macaroon bars? Never see them anywhere but up here in Scotland. LJD1 if you can't get a hold of them pm me and I'll post one to you. As for Red Cola, Barr's make the best (ginger we called it as kids). Better drunk from a glass bottle than a plastic one. ..............and its a soft drink just in case anyone is interested.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

Thanks unixgirluk, I've been racking my brains trying to remember who made Macaroons. My dad's side of the family call fizzy juice ginger (they're from Plains near Airdrie), I'm from near Edinburgh so it confused me somewhat as a kiddie, thought they were talking about Ginger Beer. Not that keen on the Red Cola but miss the American Cream Soda.0 -

Hi
Trying to think of a few things that haven't already been mentioned.
Drambuie, Crabbies Green Ginger, Belhaven Beer, Caledonian Beer,
Caboc Cheese - a very buttery cream cheese rolled in oats.
Scottish Cheddar - can buy in a truckle and should last till after xmas.
Oat Cakes - to have with the cheese, try Nairns or Simmers.
Shortbread - got to be Deans it is melt in the mouth.
Dundee Cake and Dundee Marmalade.
McCowans Highland Toffee.
Cinder Toffee - more like honeycombe than toffee.
Baxters Soup
Duncans Chocolate
The only other thing I can think of a the moment are penny dainties (toffees that costs a penny) although I don't know if they are still made.
If I think of anything else I will post again.0 -

Does he support a Scottish football team? I know Celtic have an online shop with lots of good stuff in it.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0
