I had a bird hit my car, when I was doing about 40-50mph on a road once.... it was flying low and towards the car as the first I knew about it was when it got wedged between the door mirror and the door. I had to open my window and poke it off with a stick.

Driving along the other day in narrow lanes, a coach coming the other way hit a pheasant that'd just taken off ... and I ended up just missing his 4rse as he rolled across the road, then I drove through a cloud of feathers. The pheasant had been hit by the top of the coach's windscreen.

I bet that it was a stupid pheasant, they really are stupid birds, now I have never ever seen a crow get mashed on the road, clever birds crows..;)

Damn pheasant cost me £800 once! was 20 years ago, had only recently passed test so was very inexperience. !!!!!!! phesant came out from the side, splattered all over the window and for the moment distraction I was on the verge doing 360's and almost...almost missed the barrier...almost....!

I never did get his name...

Why worry about it, just forget about it and get back to your day

Yep, you must report it to the police if the accident involves a dog but I also believe that larger farm animals are included in this also, goats, sheep, cows (ouch) and of course horses. Not sure if pigs would be included but then they're not often seen wandering across a road. :)

    What about a Tiger ??

If it's not on the list feel free to run it over with no need to trouble the Police.

Love how this board keeps censoring the word ass.

Had a very lucky encounter once, hit a rabbit doing 120mph (not in England) but managed to get it with my front numberplate which was a square one stuck on with sticky pads along the top edge only. Just a small bump and this rabbit shoots upwards in front of me, !!!!!!?

Came back to look for my front numberplate (no other damage) and the only sign of the rabbit was a 30 yard line of intestines down the road, no sign of the rest of the rabbit, or my numberplate.

I don't know, I got some stick for a group of pensioners, and even more for a group of schoolkids.

Choose something more animal-like next time!

Yes, I know this image has been doing the rounds for about 8 years, but I originally made it, so I don't care

If it was a pheasant it might be worth going back for it in a couple of weeks once it's nice and gamey.

Four days at the most, IMHO, less if it's young. And assuming someone else hasn't nabbed it and hung it for said time.
  • ... the bird (pheasant) got embedded in the grill, and was like the roadrunner, stuck in my grill of my car, head sticking out one end, feet the other.

Correctly trained to pluck or skin itself by diving through the grill before cooking itself on the engine. If you'd got the car running on cooking oil that'd be even better.
