    Hi,

    I was told:

    The address to cancel is:

    O2 UK (Disconnection)
    PO Box 242
    Houghton Regis
    LU5 5WA

Can anyone cofirm, if the above is the correct PO box number?
Isn't there anyway to fax the letter?

    Thanks in advance

...I was given this address also, today.

Because they are a bunch of awkward so and so's.

I called and was told to 'put it in writing' so i emailed, which they refused to accept, i wrote and they didnt disconnect me then said i must write again and pay another 30 days.

Needless to say i cancelled my direct debit, wrote a strongly worded letter and eventually they conceeded the point. It is very common for them to do this by all accounts and seem intent on scamming people out of another 30 day line rental as they know you are unlikely to be persueded to stay or come back.

Put it in writing (registered post) and cancell your direct debit is my advice.

Am sure this has been introduced in the hope that it's put off a certain percentage of customers from cancelling their contract. If you can buy a contract over the phone or over the counter then why do you have to write in to cancel ?. Can't cancel in the shops, over the phone, by fax or by email !

O2 have changed their T&C. I know coz I just have been forced to send them a hand written letter of cancellation even though my T&C said I could cancel by email, which I have done in the past. So you need to send them a written letter, make sure you include all your security info name, address, mobile number, date of birth, bank where DD comes out from so as not to give them any reason to reject your letter of cancellation. They require 30 days notice. Email them 5 days later on the address quoted in the posts above mycare@o2.... and ask them to confirm that they have received your cancellation as they do not usually write back to you to tell you that they have received your letter. Good luck

Best way to cancel a contract is ring up asking for a PAC code. They will try their best to keep you by giving you a better deal than you can get elsewhere (most of the time). If not you can ask for a PAYG sim card free of charge and then keep your number via transferring to that sim or if not, transfer it elsewhere and keep the free payg sim :)
