Hi, depending on the size of kitchen, the cost could add up. Kitchen units worktop, etc & appliance in magnet (high range in the sale) could come to over £15k (they will always reduce it from the original price) Magnet is better than Howden. If you buy the unit separately, the worktop (I've got granite galaxy from granite direct limited - they're in Enfield -would recommend them, the appliance (try giant appliance) & flooring (quartz from internet -but it's better to see the tiles first) then you could save some money.

Cost certainly does add up! We went along to intoto today and saw some lovely high gloss handleless kitchens, miele appliances and the quartz worktops and blanco sinks. Was really pleased that I could see it all in the flesh as such.
  • My husband works at Benchmarx joinery, and we too are in London. Could give you details to get a free design and quote

  • I found John Lewis were very helpful and professional. They also give a breakdown of the costs in their estimate, unlike many kitchen companies which give one price for the whole job.

If Kent is not too far away try these people :- Depends on the size of the kitchen as to if £30K will buy one of their installations.

  • From what I understand they are the Eggersmann doors Benchmarx use in this range. One of my favourite kitchens at the moment

Sorry Steve, Eggersmann don't do a door like the one pictured. Eggersmann do just about the best true handless kitchens there are, so really have no need for a door like the one pictured. This door in the photos has a top profile to make it look like a handless system, this type of door is generally used by lower end manufacturers as they don't have the ability to construct a proper handless kitchen.

It sounds like you have some experience of Eggersmann kitchens, would that be right?

A kitchen salesman in B&Q once told me that their doors were made by Poggenpohl...

I am so tired of it all. Listening to 'kitchen designers' making up stories slating off other kitchens that are often virtually indistinguishable from each other.

I wouldn't spend £30k on a kitchen because I like changing things too much but if I were insistent and wanted it forever, I certainly wouldn't be looking at Magnet, Howdens, Benchmarx or the likes unless my budget was a under a third of that. They all serve their purpose, but I'd shut my ears, look at the technical bit of the brochures that contain actual facts, not BS, and make up my own mind.
