complaint against first choice help please

Options
Hi

I have a complaint against first choice, I have had no joy with the shop so I contacted the managening directors suite and lodged the complaint with them but they have handed it back to the shop which are no use at all.

Could someone please give me advice who would be the highest person I can make this complaint to and get it sorted.

Thank you.

Maybe the MD thought the shop could resolve your issue more effectively from their location?

Clearly they can't, otherwise the OP wouldn't have bothered writing to the managing director. :wall:

Were you given a reason why the MD referred your complaint back to the shop?

Re the highest person/body you can take this complaint to depends what your complaint is about really.

Maybe someone could give you more advice if you give more details regarding the nature of your complaint.

They said it was a shop matter.
Basically I booked and paid for a limo to pick us up at the airport it was a surprise for my daughter's 21st when i spoke to the limo company they said there was no booking.

The shop are saying its not there fault its another company they used but I said my contract is with first choice as that is where I booked.

They said they are offering me the money back for the limo and the taxi fare which I had to pay to get us to the hotel, but it is what I have already paid so really not offering me anything,

I am looking for compensation as the surprise was ruined and it is something I can never replace.

Eh? You want compensation because you had to get a taxi instead of a tacky limo? Out of interest, how much do you think that would be worth? :p
    Gone ... or have I?

So you have been refunded what you paid for the limo (a service you didn't get) plus the cost of a taxi that you had to use to get you to the hotel.
Were transfers included in the amount you paid for the holiday?
If they weren't, you would have incurred costs for the taxi you took anyway.
From what you say, First Choice have paid you back for the taxi transfer so I think they HAVE offered (and given) you something.

I doubt that you'd get any compensation for a ruined surprise but you might want to check what your chances are here:

What amount do you think would be adequate compensation?

If I have booked and paid for something and they have mucked up then yes I expect compensation.

Transfers wernt included in the price hence why I booked the limo.

Yes I would of had to pay for the taxi anyway if that had been my choice of transport but it wasnt and I was out of pocket during the holiday.

So what do you want? Is your child requiring therapy as a result of the traumatic experience?

You were compensated, they covered your out of pocket expenses (the taxi) and refunded you the limo, you got free transfers.

And being "Out of pocket" by a taxi fair isn't really that damaging unless you had your holiday running on really tight margins.

What compensation would you like? How much is a surprise worth? Please do tell :o

The OP did not come here to be judged. She came here for constructive advice, why not try giving her some.

OP, you may be entitled to loss of enjoyment, as any well as financial losses. Have you contacted ABTA?
