I would ignore them, I know its hard, as I had the same problem when my daughter was a baby, I use to lean on her pram and not use the crutches, - lost count of the number of times I had comments - its not worth getting into any verbal contact with them, yep 99% of them may be victor meldew types out for a moan, but theres always a chance someone could get nasty, just smile sweetly, xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0

i cant wait personally until this new law comes in about not being able to have a blue badge unless you ACTUALLY have to use wheelchair to get about in. should of been brought in years ago.
But surely if your in a wheel chair then you dont really need to be near as possible to the shop ( or where ever you are going) as someone who has to struggle walking as you are sitting down and possibly being pushed by someone able bodied.????
( the only exception is if your have to wheel yourself and you struggle with pain in your arms/shoulders)0 -
A small note saying "YES this is MY badge".Truth always poses doubts & questions. Only lies are 100% believable, because they don't need to justify reality. - Carlos Ruiz Zafon, The Labyrinth of the Spirits0

My legs are fine for walking on, it's just a pity my heart is working below 30% capacity. I only need a wheelchair for distances over 100m ish when I've got someone to push me, so don't do it very often.
I work full-time because I can do it with very little walking and a lot of perseverance. My time off is spent trying to clean my house, an exciting trip out is to Tesco once a month with 3 really knackered days because it does me in.
Thanks for wanting to limit my life even further.0 -
Breaking News :rotfl:
Parked in a disabled bay and displayed my BB this morning. It was the last bay and the next bays in the row are the mum and kids ones. A mum heaving her child out of the car next to mine gave me the filthiest look imaginable. Sadly she didn't realise I could outdo her in the filthy looks stakes, so she got one back multiplied by a factor of several magnitudes. Made my morning :j.....................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Wheelchair users need the width and the close proximity to wherever they are going but let me guess, you dont own one?0 -
To be honest I wouldn't put a note with your badge, if someone comes up to you and says that again just say "I wouldn't be parking here if I wasn't disabled" and if they say anything else just say "good day to you" and walk off. Simple as. I don't have a car but I have health issues to and am in my mid 30s and I can't manage stairs and have had older people and big strapping rugby player type guys push me out of the way because I'm slow (I'm an easy target at 5ft 3" and 8 stones) so I know how you must feel. Also I know a lady with the same condition as me who once was told she was too pretty to be disabled. Go figure.0

I get loads of looks using the non-locked disabled loo's. Next time someone says something when I come out I have the perfect retort "You're lucky you didn't stop me on the way in otherwise I would have *insert word of choice* cakked myself. Not nice for you or me!"0

ROFLMAO
I can barely get as far in my 'official' wheelchair as I can on my legs, and that's only as far as the door to the supermarket from the nearest space - so my w'chair sits in the leanto unused because it is literally neither use nor ornament.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Why dont you get a chair that you can use then?
The NHS can prescribe any chair that you need, I have a lightweight and a powerchair currently.0
