People who give me dirty looks for whatever reason, I just smile at them and say "Morning/afternoon!" in a jolly voice. It pi$$es them off so much!

Haha, totally agree. When a stranger is so !!!!ed because of the way their day is going, that they feel they have to have a moan or b*tch at you for no reason, the best thing to do is smile, tell them to cheer up and get on with your day.

They'll be the ones going to bed still !!!!ed off about it, and you wont! :)

But it is difficult tho' isn't it? I know I get annoyed when I see someone park in a blue badge space then saunter off, apparently fit as a fiddle. Because I know that lots of blue badges do get abused, and there are quite a lot of stolen ones in circulation.

Personally, I don't mind being asked (altho my disability is obvious once I get out of the car), and DH wouldn't mind being asked if he was parking in a BB space to collect me from somewhere, as long as the person asking was polite about it, and didn't want the full medical history.

And I see no reason to be rude/abrupt if you do get asked. A simple "I have heart problem" or whatever should be OK.
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)

TBH I don't think there's any point in engaging with someone who has the hump about someone else with a badge using a disabled space. There are too many busybodies about who don't know their backside from their elbow but still like to stick their noses in other peoples business.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I totally agree with this, if someone has gone out of their way to have a !!!!! at a complete stranger then they aren't going to accept an explanation. I'm pretty sure it will be all about jealously and probably the fact they don't like ANY blue badge holders getting "special treatment"

And anyway, who the hell do they think they are to think they deserve an explanation for something as personal as a disability.

I suppose it depends on whether someone wants to share the fact that they have HIV/Anal Cancer/Rheumatoid Arthritis/double incontinence/some other extremely personal medical condition with an aggressive stranger, doesn't it?

I'm early 40's have a BB and often get people scowling and tutting.

I just get my badge out and ask if they'd like to check that it's mine. That soon gets them to jog on.
Life is a rollercoaster.....ya just gotta ride it:whistle:

    thats ridiculous jizzler.
being in a wheelchair is the extreme end of disability. plenty of people are disabled without being in a wheelchair.

and just to add.......anyone can buy a wheelchair, so it proves nothing!

OP, perhaps you could just say "Please don't judge a book by its cover: my disability is invisible. Thanks."? Would that work? Mine's invisible too, so I have to deal with this kind of rubbish a lot, though not about BBs as I live alone and can't drive.
