Friday 11th March - What small DFW things will you be doing today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:T

  • Oops, meant to edit the above but got carried away!!!

Ah, the early morning insomnia strikes again :( I'm sat here with a lovely cup of tea so decided to get us all going on this wonderful Friday morning. In the words of the great DNMS - I am definately up for it today!

    So far today I have:
    • checked banking
    • done a couple of surveys
    • made lunch to take to work
    • boxed 6 eggs to sell at work
    • fed and watered the chickens
    • got dishwasher going on Economy 7 - my tariff ends at 7.30am so I can take advantage on these early mornings :D
    I will also:
    • do an hour and a half overtime before work
    • possibly work half an hour of lunch and claim as overtime
    • charge mobile at work for the weekend
    • phone leather suppliers for their best price
    • keep an eye on Onepoll during the day
    • do a customer fitting this evening whilst on another trip saving diesel
    • enjoy my day :)
Not a DFW evening though as I'm off to a birthday meal at an Indian restaurant, but as I'm driving there won't be the cost of alcohol to take into account. I go out so rarely that I don't mind paying for a good night once in a while.

    Catch up later, stitchy x

Morning everyone. Not posted for a couple of days. Been working away, then my Uncle's funeral yesterday. Shame about the circumstances, but was good to go back to what I still consider home, and to see my cousins again.

Today is Friday, and my birthday so its a good day! Next birthday is a milestone so might not be quite so good :-)

Probably not a DFW day though as OH wants to go out for a meal. DD is going to babysit for the younger ones.
DS made me breakfast in bed today. Bran flakes (which is the only cereal I don't like), lukewarm coffee strong enough to stand the spoon up in, and cold dry toast that had no butter on! But bless him, he put it all on a tray, with a happy birthday banner sellotaped around the outside, then got a single candle and lit that too!

    Today I have/will
Opened my cards & presents :-)
    Washing on line to dry
    Check online banking
    Made sandwiches for work
Free tea and coffee at work
Make shopping list ready for weekly grocery shop tomorrow

    Probably not much else.

    Have a fab Friday everyone!

Oooh an early one for me :) on the train to London and feeling like a different person. I had a really good cry with my friend at work yesterday and he helped get my head back on straight. I got my house reference sorted out before leaving the office and then had a lazy evening, I even cooked! I also told my oh that he is a sarky boy when he is sick and it upset me. So all in all feeling a million times better.

I hope I'm not the only one feeling better today. Sending lots of positive vibes to you all.

    Today I have/will

Taxi to station, but will claim back
    Had breakfast before I left
Got coffee at station but used discount card
Have done a bit more crochet on the train
Got library book with me to read, no magazine buying
Going out for lunch but I think it's a work thing
Hopefully won't be too late home
Will have tea when I get home, avoiding station burger!

That's all for now, hopefully a couple more NSDs over the weekend, and I'm going to tackle the bathroom. The plan is to get it blitzed before we move so it's just a whizz around during moving week.

    Have a fab Friday all

  • Morning everyone,

I think I speak for most people when I say TGIF!! Had myself a little treat in the form of a Costa coffee, which was a bit naughty but I'm going to make up for it by not drinking/paying for a taxi for my friend's bday Saturday and I'm going to drive instead and take a few people as well. Hopefully will get a few soft drinks for that!

    Things to do today:-
    • Find Music Magpie cheque - I had a bit of a look y'day and this morning but no joy as yet :(
    • Work hard and not get into a row with my boss, unlike y'day!
    • Lunch from stores - fruit salad & yoghurt
    • Return my other New Look purchase
    • Free tea/coffee/water @ work
    • Not charge my phone 'cos I don't need to
    • Put pennies in change pot
    • Check online banking
    • Be happy!!
Hope you all have lovely days :j
