I've got a Humax PVR-9300T.... not entirely sure its its HD or not

It isnt, and judging from the reviews, its upscaling capabilities are bad

I'm going for a 42" as well. Measured my space and it easily fits 44 wide, and as tall as I want. The sofas are a good 8.5' away from the TV.

As I said, with the equipment you have now, you wouldnt gain anything from buying a 1080P
BUT - id recommend one purely to be future proof

Yeah I was thinking that as well.

Another question - most TVs now seem to have freeview (HD as well) built in... how will this work when I have my PVR too?

    All sets have digital tuners.
Same as it does now, assuming you connect via scart.
Are you going to get a set with a freeview or freesat HD tuner?
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Not sure. what's the difference? Which would be more beneficial?
  • Built in Freesat HD and Freeview HD allow you to receive 5 free to air HD channels without the need for a separate set-top box. Frreview HD needs a terrestrial TV aerial. Freesat HD needs a Sky dish (or similar).
