With regards to dryness - I've noticed they're slightly more moist and 'stuck together' if I use drinking chocolate rather than cocoa (needs to be one that needs milk, not water, to make into the drink).
It's also significantly cheaper that way - although a milder taste.

How long do they last? Obviously I shall have to hide them, or the answer is no time at all, BUT I have made a batch tonight, and if they will still taste good on Thursday I would like to keep them until then. If not I shall have to make another batch ... Yes they do keep - very well. We stored ours in an airtight container and if anything they were even better after 4 or 5 days. Now there's a challenge for you!!0
