With regards to dryness - I've noticed they're slightly more moist and 'stuck together' if I use drinking chocolate rather than cocoa (needs to be one that needs milk, not water, to make into the drink).
It's also significantly cheaper that way - although a milder taste.
Will try the extra egg mix though - and I'm looking forward to hearing how the Christmas version goesDFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -

How long do they last? Obviously I shall have to hide them, or the answer is no time at all, BUT I have made a batch tonight, and if they will still taste good on Thursday I would like to keep them until then. If not I shall have to make another batch ... Although I need to check whether they're any good or not: I used dairy free margarine because they're for a work 'do' and someone doesn't eat dairy, but I forgot about the chocolate ... not sure if she'll eat them or not! :doh:mrweeble wrote:I do like Weetabix, but those Oatabix are icky, had two bowls (didn't like the first one, so tried a second with even more milk - didn't like that one either) and now have more than half the pack to use up. What's really bad, is I moved house and brought them with me cos I didn't like to throw them away.
At least I have something I can try to get rid of them. :TSignature removed for peace of mind0 -
EssexGirl wrote:I couldn't be bothered to chop up the chocolate as I only had a 100g value bar in cupboard. So I broke the chocolate into biggish squares and melted it in the microwave then added it to the mixture at the same time as the melted butter.... Yummy.
I used melted chocolate rather than choc chips or chunks too. Turned out lovely.0 -
Just made these and they are gorgeous:T

Hasn't anyone else tried making them in advance? I need to know if they'll still be good by Thursday! Colleague says she's fine with chocolate ...Signature removed for peace of mind0

Yes they do keep - very well. We stored ours in an airtight container and if anything they were even better after 4 or 5 days. Now there's a challenge for you!!0

OK, mine are being kept from Monday night until Thursday. Who wants to try for longer than that and report back? :rotfl:Signature removed for peace of mind0
