Depending on how old he is, De Efteling in Holland is good.

We prefered Portaventura to Euro Disney due the great shows and the fact it was less busy. Nicer landscapped park too. The kids loved Woody Woodpecker and had lots of photos with this character. We did as other s have done booked Ryanair flights to salou and go on the airport bus (paid on bus) to our hotel and they took our details and time of return in the diary and collected us upon the day to do the return trip. We stayed at the Mexican themed hotel and found it cheaper to book direct for half board. If you put down a deposit you get pool towels for the week-saves taking up room in the suitcase. Nice pool at hotel, plus evening entertainiment and shows for families and water park beside portaventura/the hotel too. Aslo although only about 5 mins walk to the theme park they do a little road train for free from the hotel too. About 15 minutes walk to the beach in Salou as well.

I was also going to say Parc Asterix in France. You can even pay with Tesco vouchers.

Warner Brothers park just outside Madrid. Great fun! Didn't know it exited until we came across it by mistake last year and we really enjoyed it.

Have you considered Butlins? We have been 3 times the first time when our twin boys were 7, and I was so convinced it would be awful we told them we had only booked 1 night! But they absolutly LOVED it, and we have returned a few times for short breaks. There are plenty of activities on offer, plus you could also visit a theme park for the day as well. They have had lots of holidays, usually a lot more expensive , but will still say that Butlins is their favourite. Hope you have a good time wherever you choose.
