Holidays whilst still in debt

I am having a dilemma about a holiday!
I could either, carry on as I am, with CC on 0% and chipping away at my loan slowly but surely, and save some money to go away this time next year (without putting myself into any more debt) by saving £100 a month for 10 months (which I was – until last month – paying off my sofas with). Or I could pay an extra £100 a month off my CC and not have a holiday until I am debt free - which could take forever!!
I feel bad going on hols with debt still there, although I am starting to feel the need for a holiday as I haven’t had one for years and years (and even when I did they were tagging along with my OH’s parents!).
Do any of you still take holidays whilst in debt, or are you waiting to be debt free, save up and then have a holiday?

Why shouldn't you have a holiday if you are in debt?
You are even allowed to budget for a holiday in bankruptcy.
You already feel bad enough about being in debt - but you are doing something positive about it. No need to wair a hair shirt for the rest of your life.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

debt is under control and going down slowly, a few years ago i would have put a hol on CC without thinking twice!
I suppose i could save £100 a month for a year and decide nearer the time what to do with teh cash!0 -
It's up to you really. You need to weigh up whats more important, a holiday or clearing your debts faster.

Personally, I'd say take a holiday. There's no point going through life not having any fun because you have a debt.
I'm planning on going to Oz next year, which will mean I will add another 6 months or so to paying of my debt, (as the money that would be put towards the debt will go towards the trip) but, personally I think that after a nice break, I will be much happier about paying off the rest of the money after.
Have a holiday, enjoy yourself and don't feel one bit of guilt!!0 -
We went to a haven site in somerset for our holiday in september it cost 150 for the 3 of us and we just used the park as accomodation and went round the surrounding area.
