A gift I've gotten for a few young one's, that's been really appreciated is a blanket, which I've taken to a local place & gotten embroidered with their name's, date of birth & pretty image ie a rainbow or star's. In fact picked up a gorgeous pink fluffy fleece blanket from BHS for £5 last week for my neices 1st birthday, think the embroidery will cost about £5.Booo!!!0

Hi!
When our son had his naming ceremony we received so much silverware you would have thought we were dealers! The items have sat in the bottom of his wardrobe, untouched for 2 years. I finally Ebayed the lot last week and put the money into his account.
Useful presents or something like premium bonds are so much more welcomed.Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

My signature new born gift (although could be used as christening gift) is a commissioned money box - totally unique, has baby's name, date of birth and message painted on the bottom. It always goes down really well.
I get these from here . The site looks a bit out of date, but they do money boxes (full commission is about £35, or you can get something pre painted and just add the child's name) but you can get the gist of what they do.Life is what you make it. Always has been, always will be
