Dont know how much you want to spend. Premium bonds are good but start at £100. not bad if you split between a few of you. Or just good old plain money into their savings account.0

how about one of those name a star after the person tins. i did this for a friends daughter you get to name the star anything you want and get a location so that you can look for it in the sky and it's all registered as their's forever. about £15 so not too expensive but a lovely novelty.Time, Tide and Diarrhoea wait for no man.

I knew my niece would have lots of Picture Bibles, as very church background, so I gave money specifically for her university fund (probably enough for 1 day in 17 years time!)0

We bought a music box for our god son. It was £65 (even two years ago!). If I went for another christening, I would probably get another one, possibly cheaper one. I think they are lovely, and can be used to play a lullaby to the little one!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0

How about a lifetime diary? When younger the parents can fill it in to record major events, and as they get older they can take over and fill it in for themselves.
