E7even - Upgrade to 2Mb for £25

Quioa (et al)
Have received confirmation from E7even that £25 would upgrade me from 512kb to 2Mb (see below copied e-mail):
"Dear Sir,
The £25 would upgrade you to 2Mb
Kind Regards,
E7even Customer Services"
This doesn't automatically mean that everyone is entitled as we do not know what their selection / marketing criteria migh be but, it is looking hopeful.
Sooooooo, back to my secondary question (ignoring the fact that it is only £25) what real benefits will I get in upgrading to 2Mb if I don't download large quantities of music, video, etc, etc. I'm just wondering if I would (theoretically) get a better service on a 512Kb connection but with only a 20:1 contention ration.

Yes, I got the same message - but I recently paid £35 to upgrade to 1MB so I emailed them to see if there was a discount for those that had already paid - unfortunately not ! I guess they have to pay a fee to BT to make the change, and have to cover their costs too.

cloud_dog wrote:Ok, whilst we are (sort of) discussing 2Mb ADSL services would anyone like to comment on its value. For example if I do not download video, MP3, etc, etc then what is the advantage to me as a basic web surfer who listens to the radio over the web.
I suppose my perception is that web pages would load a little bit quicker but other than that is it *really* that beneficial (I'll ignore the fact that for a paltry £25 I will have 2Mb speed for another 18 months).
Not much difference on web pages between 1MB and 2MB. 512 and 1MB yes deffo.
2MB with a 1 or 2 gig cap is a waste of time IMO. You're better with a 1MB unlimited0 -

PM sent back to you - I am still tempted by the offer but my 1M connection is fast enough really so am not sure - it is so cheap to upgrade, but do I really need the speed ? I wish I hadn't upgraded to 1m for £35 a couple of months ago as I could have upgraded to 2M now for less ! Perhaps if wait I'll be able to upgrade to 8M for 25p ??? Wishful thinking!
I do not think the 2m connection is capped as earlier poster seemes to state. To infinity and beyond!0 -

I thought that the "2Mb service being capped at 2Gb discussion" sprang out of this post (below) regarding a "comparable" ISP offer.Simran wrote:not sure how this compares but freedom2surf offer up to 2Mb speed (with a 2GB per month cap) at £14.99 per month. Theres an activation fee of £49.99. As far as I am aware, and have just checked their website (as I've upgraded to the 2Mb service - £25 what the hell) E7even do not have download limits on any of their services (one of the reasons I went with them).
