I couldn't tell someone, I just couldn't stand there and humiliate them, even if it is for their own good.

Maybe write a note or get someone else to mention it?

We had this problem at work once, a young girl there stunk of bo, I don't know if they went the right way about it but the way her problem was dealt with was - a member of staff wrote a letter pretending to be from a customer (we work in a shop) and handed it to the manager complaining about the smell, I don't know if my manager ever found out the truth.

Its difficult and not something I'd want to do, but I would prefer to be told if it were me.

The worst problem will be if it's got into her clothes and the problem doesnt go away after she takes your advice on board.

May I suggest you tell her right at the end of the day if you are going to? It would be awful for her if she was stuck at work after being told she stinks and I imagine she will want to get home asap!

Tell the Practice Manager the trainee in your opinion has personal hygiene problems. The PM has resonsibility for managing the practice and staff, and are paid very well to do so.

I think this reveals a lot about our society if we are now telling people they smell. Get a grip!

Ive had to have this conversation with a cleaner in my office. I just said to her " Ive noticed your uniform smells a bit footy , kinda like BO , do you want me to have a word with HR and see if we can order you up a new one " It was nothing to do with her uniform but it was kinder to say that and it wasnt aimed directly at her and gave her a chance to deny it to save face . She just looked really embarrased and said " Its okay il give it a good boil wash tonight,Ive noticed it too " never had BO problem again. It was really difficult but I think she wouldve been mortified if someone had stuck a roll on in her locker or worse just came out and said to her that she was stinking of BO.
Edit to add , we had had a few customer complaints about the smell
Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

Well, that's kind of reiterating the point I'm making.

From very early on people have used different ways of "covering" up body odour, although they didnt have deodorant or soap people carried little prefumed cloths etc. Im not saying im a clean freak or anything and theres nothing wrong with the smell of sweat or hard work ( i love this smell on my OH ) But BO is a different kettle of fish
