I have found it for £116.99 delivered from one site, very cheap compared to others. I think you may have sold this one to me. Thank you very much.0

Having said that, does that mean the maxi-cosi is designed as a car seat/carry cot - so you can unclip it from seat base and have it as a carry cot, where as this one you cant. But on the other hand the maxi-cosi will only have a short usage life span as you will need to replace it for a different style when the baby is older, where as this you dont? Am I correct.0

So just so I can get this straight in my mind;
The maxi cosi is basically a carry cost come seat and you could carry it to the car, and attach it to the car seat base thing. Then if the baby is asleep when you arrive at the destination you can just unclip it from the base and can carry it around.
Whereas...........
The Britax cant?
Although it is designed to last until the child is around 1-2 years old?
So the maxi-cosi will need to be replaced with something else before the Britax?
Sorry for all the questions.0 -

The maxi-cosi is compatabile with some pushchairs so you'd be able to use that as part of the pram and it does look like it would be an easy one to carry in and out if you're visiting relatives etc. I actually think it's the same one that my friend had and she did like it but I'm sure it was a bit heavy to carry once her baby was 6 months or so. I've just looked it up and I think it's 0+ so you would get a year or so out of it. However, like you say, you'll get a lot more use with the Britax First Class as it should do up to approx 4 years.
If I were you, I'd hold off just now until you're completely decided on your pushchair as you might end up wanting a pushchair that you can't use a carseat with anyway and then you'll not have a dilemma. The First Class seat always seems to be on offer somewhere so you'll not miss out. We got ours from Halfords last year and that was when they had a discount event on and I found a discount code on here to get even more off so I'm sure you'll end up with a good price even if you don't buy just now. We even went back to Halfords to get them to refit it to forwards facing and they were really helpful. I'd definitely recommend them. definitely fit your car as their site has the useful search facility.0 -

Sorry I didn't see this reply when I was typing the other one! That's no problem about the questions, I hope that I'm helping.
You could unclick the Maxi-Cosi seat and carry it but I don't think you'd be doing it that much unless you were just carrying it into someone's house as the seat plus baby will be heavy. I just checked Amazon and the seat weighs 4.8kg, when my son was born he weighed 4kg so right away that would be 8.8kg so as baby gets bigger, you'll probably find it a bit more difficult to carry baby in the seat unless it was just a short distance. However, if you were using pushchair that you could click the seat onto then that wouldn't be a problem.
The Maxi-Cosi seat will be fine for baby up to around a year and the Britax one would do up to around 4 years.
It is convenient being able to carry baby in the carseat but it's not that awkward to just move them from carseat to pram or to just carry them if it's a short distance. When my son was small, we often carried in the Streety carseat when we were visiting relatives but you still need to take baby out of the seat anyway to take their jacket etc off and for everyone to get a cuddle with lol anyway so you're not losing out on that much if you have to leave the carseat in the car.0 -
Thats the thing, visiting family etc isnt it easier to have them in the carry cot/seat so you have somewhere for them to sit lay, and if they were asleep you dont have to wake them by taking them out of the seat and carry them to someones house or back home etc?0

I'm not sure which M&P pushchair you are referring to, but I have bought the Zoom for my unborn son, and have been pleased with it so far.
We tested out a fair few buggies in M&P of all price ranges, and found that the Zoom suited us as it was easy to fold down/put up, easy maneuverability, lightweight, seat can face forwards or backwards, comes with carrycot, fits in our car boot easily etc. We could have spent more but were very happy with the Zoom for value for money, and that left more of the budget to spend on other things :money:
The Sola is also highly rated, as is the Pilko Pramette. All are very affordable.
I can also fit on my chosen car seat - MaxiCosi Cabriofix - with the Aton adapters. That has arrived today and I am pleased with it. I got the car seat base as well.
Of course I haven't used any of these items properly yet as baby isn't due for another 2 months, but in terms of reviews and quality, they are both very good items.0 -

It can be handy but you'll probably find that everyone wants baby out the seat as soon as you go in and you'll need to take baby out to take his/her coat off anyway even if they are sleeping so baby will probably end up spending most of the time out of the seat. Like you say, it is also somewhere to put baby but you could take something along for baby like a bouncy chair (link below as not sure if you'll have seen these yet) with you instead if you're going visiting for a while or even just lie baby on you with a blanket. I have to admit that we did find it handy to carry our Streety carseat in but I wouldn't say that it would have made a big difference to us if we'd had to leave it in the car.

My partner has suggested;
Buying the maxi-cosi for her day to day use in her car, easier to get in and out etc, so she can use it as a carry cot and car seat.
Buying the britax first plus for my car to stay in there and take the maxi cosi with us just to use as a carry cot on journeys done in my car.
This way when the maxi-cosi is not able to be used any more we still have the other one.
What do you think? I can get the maxi cosi for £90 and the other for £116 so not a fortune.0 -

That what I have got! Its very easy too push. It is a bit heavy to lift when all together but its so easy to change from pushchair to carseat and reverse etc. Fits in my Astra and OH Corsa. I love it, just got to wait until June for bump to arrive! Don't forget Quidco for Boots too:heart2:Baby boy madbird arrived 15/06/11 by emergency csection weighing 9lb 13oz:eek: love him so much xx:heart2:0
