Mum's (barclays) cash card got stuck in a Santander branch machine and she was told they only gave back Santander cards. So she gave them "the look" and they literally ran for the key to release it!

I remember a lady leaving her TSB debit card on the till counter in the shop I used to work in. Upon calling the number on the debit card. I was told by the bank to destroy it, and they would send a new one to the customer.

She wasn't very happy when she returned 30 mins later to ask if she had left her card with us!

we had a wallet left by a customer where i work with £500 + cash in it he was a squadie, whos driving licence address was in wales (we're in hampshire)
we phoned the number on his id card and it put us through to a samaritons message (we tried twice incase we mis dialed)

we then phoned his credit card company, they said they wouldn't contact him to tell him where his wallet was. but had cancelled his card so don't try to use it!

then we went on bt.com, entered his address and surname it came up with a phone number at a house 2 doors away from what his id said, so we left a message on the answer phone, the next day the person phoned us back to say they knew who it was and would go and knock on the door.
the next day the squaddie came back to collect it,(but didn't even bring a box of roses!:p~)

I found a lady's purse which contained several cards including a Tesco clubcard.

Went to Tesco to hand it in, as they could obviously identify the lady, but they wouldn't accept it as they claimed it would be a breach of data protection!

    What a carry on.

I left my wallet in tesco last year, they looked through it and found that i had 3 business cards for the same driving instructor so phoned her and asked if she knew me and said id left my wallet, it was my mother in law so she called me and let me know where it was:T

A Tesco store should contact the Dundee office (not CC) regarding a lost card - in their possession, or bunch of keys with key fob; but not surprised they wouldn't take custody of a purse.

Why didn't you take it to a Police station? They would check details in the purse, contact Tesco, or anybody else, keep it safe - and pass on your details for any thank-you.
I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard

I think it depends on the supervisor in each store. Some are evil officious women who won't do anything over and above their jobs. Others will gladly try and resolve the situation.

Why is anyone expecting customer service from Tesco? There's no immediate profit in it for them. My local branch just throws clubcards away and tells you to phone Dundee for a replacement.

I left my Credit card at the check-out in Tesco. I was in their cafeteria when I realised, but it was soon sorted out. Just had to go through some security checks, with their security guard.
  • I found a wallet once...had £200 cash and CCs, so on.

Maxed out the CCs at the strippers and spent the cash on booze.

    WINNING.

What would you do if someone left their wallet/purse in your shop/office?

What would you want people to do if they find your wallet/purse in their shop/office?

    :)
