Hello gem68
I have happy memories of a holiday in New Quay.............of sitting on the harbour wall in the late summer evening, watching bottlenose dolphins.
I'm glad that you and your son had a great time...........and saw the dolphins.

We went to New Quay last year and loved it so much we are going back again this year! We are staying on the Camping and Caravanning Club site at Cross Inn.
We went on one of the dolphin spotting boat trips last year but only saw gannets and other assorted sea birds but it was such as beautiful day it didn't matter. Hope to have more luck this year!PigginSkint's debt free diary

Pencnwc????
The dolphins were rife today... It was lovely seeing them, but I always thought the best time of day to see the dolphins from shore is evening.
We were down there one night last year and they were really close to the big pier and gave us a huge show...0 -
well, its time to start thinking about our summer holiday again.....
and i really want to go back to NEW QUAY (wales).
me and my boy loved the Penwig Hotel last year, but he's mentioned he would like to stay in a "immobile caravan" ! think he meant the statics at the caravan park,so,holiday research commences this week.starting with having a look at the camping site mentioned in post #25.0 -
Trying Poppit Sands not far from Cardigan.
One of the loveliest places I have been to.
Stayed in the Youth Hostel there a few times years ago - would love to go back,Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

If your looking at staying in a site near the beach, I would recommend Quay West
http://www.haven.com/parks/south-wales/quay-west/index.aspx?waplacement=quay_west&waSite=Google&waSource=Online&waChannel=Paid_Search&waCampaign=Paid_Search-Parks&waGroup=Quay_West&mpch=sem
Your in walking distance to the beach and you can even walk into New Quay, its only about a mile to the village..
