I would suggest New Quay, its only about 15 mile up the coast... but its a little fishing village...

    Check it out..

BTW I live in west Wales... ;) xx

It's lovely, I've been along the whole length of it :)
I'd say the best stretch for the beaches is along the line above Aberystwyth.

Wow !! I have read half this and made up my mind what to stick my pennies worth in.
I am now in north wales but spent many a happy hour in Mid Wales in Tents caravans and weekends away. Along the Mid wales we have Clarach bay Glan y mor is a good holiday park with staggering views .They hire statics or have pitchwes for tents Further down past Aberystwyth ( which is the largest place around mid wales but IMO not a great holiday place to go to. (just MHO) We have Aberaeron a nice costal town with some holiday shops but have great little B&Bs small hotels that all work hard in pleasing their customers . Then heres the spooky bit We reach New Quay (Wales) a small fishing port similar to a small cornish type villages where all roads run to the harbour at the bottom there is a Pub called The Penwig which offer decent accomadation for a fair price . It seems the centre of New Quay for the locals too as at weekends the pub gets busy and there is normally a singer on etc. (Probably singing about us English B*S*a*d*# in Welsh)haha. Then a gnother great drive brings you down to Cardigan itself a decent enough costal town with beautiful beaches around to relax .. Enjoy Wales

you will love New Quay there is (used to be) a good Italian next to the football club bar at the top of N Q and The Penwig goes back alot further than it looks so you can be a good distance from the bar at night (which is good once youve had enough)Enjoy the whole of the cardigan coast

My wife and I live at Aberporth which is near Cardigan. New Quay is a beautiful place and not commercialised like a lot of the resorts in England. We go there occasionally and have a coffee at the Penwig and look at the sea from the window. New Quay is renowned for dolphins and during the warmer months there are a few people who keep constant watch. We have seen dolphins a few times. There are good beaches on the West coast. Don't miss Tresaith which has a waterfall coming down onto the beach. Go into the Ship Inn there which take children and, again, you can see the beach from the pub. Llangrannog is another excellent beach with two pubs and an ice cream cafe. The tourist information centre at New Quay is only open in the Summer but there is an excellent one at Aberaeron (near to the Harbourmaster Hotel) open all year round.

If you would like any more information, don't hesitate to get in touch. Have a great time!
