There is always the old "not as described" trick too. If you say she bought the same phone a year ago...maybe its broken now? She buys yours and sends the old one back to you saying it is the one you sent her...

Thanks everyone I have told her that I will accept the Postal cheque, so I will just have to wait and see what happens now, the other phone she bought was a different colour, pink I think.

I suppose she could be a collector of these mobile phones, you never know.

Thanks chancesare for what you said about the buyer having to prove that they have paid, that has put my mind at rest a bit:)

What will be, will be as the song goes:)

    Xmas Saver!
It does sound a bit dodgy, the first thing I would say if cover your rear, contact ebay and them tell, then they can advice how to proceed.

Check the postal order, if it is crossed it needs to go to the bank, but check whether the 2 4 6 policy applies. Becareful with the bank, as (not ebay related), but I put a chq in from my solicitors, checked at the counter when it would be clear 5 days (b4 the new 2 4 6 etc), balance not cleared, it had gone to the fraud department as it was an unusual sum of money, took about 10 days to clear. Things are different now, but do please be careful.

Hopefully there a genuine buyer, and we're all worrying for nothing, xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • Thanks very much mum2one, hopefully it won't be crossed, but if it is I'll remember what you said.

It's a love hate relationship with ebay, a neccersary evil.:)
