  • I have been without a car for a few months so have been struggling to get anywhere to get baskets . I know most of you are probably all sorted but if anyone is looking for baskets I thought I'd let you know of an offer in QS at the moment.

QS stores have an offer on until the end of Saturday which covers everything in the store - buy 2 items and get another 2 free. They have lots of pretty storage boxes which would make great boxes for hampers and could be used afterwards. I bought some canvas DVD boxes for £2.50 each (if you buy 4 that would cost you £5). They are in pink, turquoise and a dark chocolatey brown colour. They have larger canvas boxes but a whole range of other boxes too - well worth a look.

Here is a link to their website but the canvas boxes aren't on here unfortunately. The oval blossom boxes on the website are really nice too and a very generous size.

Can I just say a huge thankyou to all you geniuses on this thread - I would never have thought of (or dared to try) putting together a hamper. However, you have all been so inspiring and put together such wonderful gifts, I just have to have a go. I can't wait! However, one complaint - this thread is too addictive - I spend far too long drooling over all your photos!

Looking forward to seeing more of your piccies!

The tesco lilac roses can be ordered on line. I had them delivered on Tuesday with my groceries. I ordered them to bring my bill over £50.00 to get the extra 250 points. They were in the Toiletry/Baby section Gifts /adult toiletry.

  • Hi, sorry I can't find the post, but whoever was asking where sold big gift bags to put hampers in, I can confirm poundland do them again this year and Iceland are also selling them for £1. Poundland also had HUGE felt stockings which would probably fit a hamper inside too.

  • QS have enormous bags for £1.50. If you have one near you it is worth popping in in the next couple of days - if you buy 4 you will only have to pay for 2 ie £3.

I should have mentioned the bags in my post yesterday - sorry!

We have a QS near me but it only sells clothes - more's the pity :(.

I bought some "speckled snow" yesterday. It is 90cm x 1.5m, cost £1 and I'm going to try lining it in my baskets instead of paper. Looking at it I think I might get two larges baskets out of it. I'll let you know.
