i wrapped mine slightly different
1st I put the basket on the cellophane and made sure both sides were even then cut. Then instead of gathering the whole thing together i pinched the middle of one side about 4" from the top then concertinared (sp) like fan but leaving the top open so only about the width of your finger is folded then tied with curling ribbon I then did the other side of the cellophane so I had the 2 sides tied seperatly I then joined these 2 pieces together with more curling ribbon I folded the bottom up and secured with tape then where the 2 pieces met along the side (where the gap is) I put small pieces of tape,
not sure I have explained well
as you can see it looks pretty tidy
i just wanted to say a big thank you for the above advice, i was having a nightmare last night trying to wrap my large family night in hamper without having gaps at the side (think my cellophane is too narrow really) so i searched this thread in the hope that someone would have a bright idea of how to do it - i knew you guys would know!! i will try again tonight but i'm sure this way will work much better, i will try and post pictures when i am finished!0 -
I dont know if its any use but lakeland have 4 bags for £5.99 - they are very big and two layers - foil covered with cellophane - perfect for big or ackward shaped baskets.
Originally i thought they were a bit expensive but really at £1.50 each they are only 50p more than the large ones in poundland.
Would make hampers or even ackward gifts look lovely and professional.
Hope that helps.0 -

OMG - i really did think i was quackers for a moment
I keep trying to go to another page because i thought there was a recipe for xmas pudding vodka in here somewhere but i may be wrong
I know its on the xmas board somewhere :rotfl:Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
Hubby was passing a Home Bargains today, so I sent him in with a list (much to his disgust - he hates shopping, lol). Came out with 20 yes/no dolls for various hampers I'm putting together.
He says he could have bought three times that and still left some on the shelf - shame I didn't think to get some petty cash from the PTA - they'd be great tombola prizes at that price.
Anyway - that now means that I've got all the bits and pieces I need for Christmas, and all I have to do is put the hampers together - I'll have to do them as I see people as there's nowhere safe to keep them all once they're made up - I'll be sure to post pictures.
I'm itching to get started, lolDFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -
