Just wanted to post this - it's my long-planned baby hamper for my best friend.
I've been gathering bits since she found out she was expecting - she's got 7 weeks to go so I've had plenty of time - didn't realise how much I had got actually, lol
Everything is packed into a baby bath - there are -
Small Changing bag with mat (Vertbaudet freebie), packed with;
Nature Baby nappy sacks and wipes (Boots points)
Green People baby gift pack (online offer and Quidco points)
Small baby hat (Persil freebie)
Small fabric drawstring bag (Ariel freebie)
Cream fleece car-seat blanket (baby mag freebie)
Teether
WTP 0+mths dummies (Co-op discontinued line 2/3 off)
Father Christmas (from birth) soft toy - Boots sale and points
Christmas Bib (baby mag freebie)
Room temperature Thermometer (boots points)
Then there is;
WTP Gift basket (3-6mths) (Kays half price sale and commission)
Zorbit cuddle robe (boots sale and points)
Traditional baby shawl (unused gift - we had loads)
Soft Toy Cow (La Redoute code)
First Book Of Fairy Tales (Books For Children freebie)
Haynes Baby Manual (duplicated gift) and bottle of organic beer (Ocado offer) for Dad
Box of chocs (freebie), small bottle wine (Kays code - part of a hamper) and a £10 M&S voucher (survey payment) for Mum
And, padding the bottom of the bath out, is another pack of 3-6 months vests, sleepsuits and bibs - also Kays sale and commission
Overall cash cost - just under £25- rrp value - well over £150 :eek:

That hamper is brilliant! I would have loved something like that when I was pregnant. Love the Haynes manual lol
I can't believe that only cost you £25 as well! Even my husband was impressed. He's actually been impressed by all the hampers and has got well into it! Wahey!0 -
Thanks ccastley
It actually gave me a shock when I added it all up just now - but yes, if I only count the cash I've handed over, rather than the points and such I've used, it has come in at just under £25 (with points, just over £50, which still isn't bad).
Glad your hubby liked it - mine just looked and said 'a bit extravagant isn't it' :rolleyes:
Well, it's not every day you have your first baby is it? And like you said, I would have loved a bundle like that (or a nappy cake) when I had my threeDFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -

Finally finished the basket for my gran, I was going to make 2 or 3 but I ended up with other presents for them.
Unwrapped
Wrapped
The bow is a little funky looking because it fell apart at first!
* 2 x dove soap bars £1
* Spa set £1
* Scarf £2
* Cup 99p
* Hot chocolate sachets (7 for a £1)
* Wire Basket 99p
Total (without wrapping): £6.43
Wrapped the basket in old material, paper shredding inside and plopped everything else in. Cellophane and pull bows from ebay. Turned out not too bad
Just can't figure out how I am going to give it to my gran, gift bags are too small. Anyone ideas?** Mummy to little Jenna born on 23/12/07 **
• Pigsback - £11.25 (£30 cashed!) •
• Valued opinions - £5.75 (£0.25 pending) •

morning all
I am new to this board but just wanted to post to say I am in awe of all the baskets I have seen here and it has given me the idea to do a few baskets for a few people that I know (but not very well lol).
Have read all of the posts and know where I can obtain the baskets & wraps from but am a tad stuck for ideas on what to put in them for the people I wish to give them to, any chance of some ideas?? Am of into town next Thursday to start collecting the items but am on a very low budget
Here are the people I wish to buy for..
my sons, girlfriends mother ~ I dont really know what she is in to as we only rarely say hi to each other lol I can only think of 1 of those small bottles of red wine so far.
my sons girlfriends dad ~ again totally stuck (unless I can do a joint basket for them both as I know him even less)
my sons girlfriends brother ~ he is 11 and I have a few ideas with the chocolates and mug etc, I think he should be pretty easy to buy for.
then my sons girlfriend ~ last year I bought her expensive make-up, but now she never wears any so I am totally lost for her. She is 16 nearly 17 and very fashion conscious.
I have a very good best friend who I know would absolutely love a basket like you guys are showing here, so I may buy her some pamper items as she hasnt been well lately and I know she would pick up & feel alot better with one of these for xmas, just have to try not to overspend, which will be hard to do.
I feel like a failure already hardly knowing what they are into, but they tend to keep themselves to themselves alot of the time, I can tell this wont be easy, so any advice hugely appreciated
Thank youBest wins
