rainmac, I've been trying my best but seeing your pressies made me actually feel a bit christmassy. I just love your xmas eve hamper that truly is brilliant your children are just going to love it. Made me wish for a split second I had little ones again (just a split second;) )
Those tin selection boxes, wow! so much better than the shop bought ones, I spot cadburys elves in there. I'm popping in for xmas:rotfl:
Actually you reminded me of something I can do, I can do an ice cream hamper for xmas eve for my son (he's 17 and an ice cream fanatic) with a DVD and a cocoa cone mug. I bought a whole carrier bag of ice cream sundae glasses from Asda last year 10p each. I'll get some of those bead cannisters and put sprinkles in and add sweets and flake and mini marshmellows and make sure I've got plenty of ice cream in the freezer.
Thank you0 -

How long do snowman cones/ biscuits in jars keep?
I am sending my parcels up to my mum via courier (getting it through work and is cheaper than excess baggage at airport) so want them sorted and ready to go at the beginning of december which I thought would be fine but I noticed people saying they were having to wait until nearer the time for it- can somebody clear this up for me

I've made the snowman soup cones as everything is pretty well sealed up with tape and ribbon and I think it will all be fine (the canes on the outside are in their own cello wrapping). I did put the made up comes in a sealed tin but then got itchy feet to make up some of my pressies so I did. I think the worst that will happen is the marshmallows go ever so slightly hard.
Not sure about making biscuits, think it depends what they've got in them. If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
I have a mars bar cookie recipe and a cranberry cookie one (both are on craftbits.com i think)0

I now have 4 hampers on the go and nearly finished thanks to all the info posted on here:
* mini pamper hamper for my SIL, containing a body cream, body puff, face mask, slippers and a chocolate orange.
* basket for gran with Quality Street, Avon skin stuff, scented parcels for your drawer, slippers, etc.
* afternoon tea basket for my grandparents-in-law containing a mini cream and sugar jug set, Whittard teas, Twinings hot chocolate set, Liquorice Allsorts, mini chocolates, preserves, etc.
* cookery basket for BIL containing a areas of Britain cook book, some herbs, spice mills, cooking utensils, other ingredients, etc.
I have most of the above, but the thing I'm stuck most on is the preserves - has anyone seen any nice, not-too-expensive ones either on the high street or online please?0 -
