My goodness you were all busy yesterday.

savingholmes the yule logs look fab, the ribbon is so pretty. Love the hamper for your MIL the calendar idea is brilliant, I like the gold wrapping.
SeaBee your hampers are wonderful, they not only look great as they are but you've done such a lovely job of wrapping them too.
Rusty cones look fab, I'm going to do my son and hubbie one of those.
kle87 loving your hamper, the case is so cute too.
ikkle87 hamper looks lovely and what a nifty idea with the stocking, you reminded me I have to do something similar with a santa boot and elf shoe. Forgot about those.

Christmas looks like it's all coming together for you all, everyone's going to love your gifts.

:oOhhhh deeee-er! Another thread to add to my 'research' :D BUT...here goes my brain again...

Do you think the snowman soup would work with a sachet of cappacino, chocolate sprinkles & a cinnamon stick as an adult version?
Also I saw someone mention WHITE CHOC..not seen this so a map required if available :p ..cuz one of my lot doesn't 'do' drinking choc but likes white choc, so think I might put temptation their way

Again..brain ticking over, but these would make excellent fillers for those peeps:-
going on winter sport type holidays after crimbo
    moving house this season
    getting married this season
    pamper hampers
    winter b'day party bags
    get well soon

Yay! Proving Snowmen are not just for crimbo :D

Have you seen the snowman poop bmf, I donlt know you but have a feeling you may like this... http://www.craftbits.com/viewProject.do?projectID=1931

    As for white hot chocolate...
    Ovaltine do white chocolate malt
Options do white hot choc sachets

It was me that mentioned white chocolate- my sister adores it so try and get her a pot of it as often as possible for christmas but it is quite dear

I found it in whittards (best bet might be an outlet) theyare like £5 for a tub of it (2 for £8 if I remember rightly) but you might be able to get it seomewhere else.

Gingerbread house to make - Ikea £1.95
Xmas rubber duck - £3.50ish ebay
Bath crayons - £3 ish Tesco

    Mugs x 2 - £7
    Snowman soup x 2 - £?
    Snall reindeer x 2 - £5 John Lewis

    Name plaques x 2 for bedroom doors - £?

To add nearer Xmas Eve - biscuit mix in a plastic jar to bake Xmas Eve, a carrot and a couple of paper plates for DS1 to decorate to leave biscuits and carrot on.

Really pleased with this basket, going to leave it out so they see it Xmas Eve morning and we can have a whole day of getting ready for the BIG day :D

Forgot a couple of other bits to add - letters from Santa for each DS - printed these from internet; no sew blankets x 2. Bought 4 fleeces from Ikea to make 2 blankets.

rainmac - I'm going past your way on Thursday....!?:p

Ikkle - lovely hamper and stockings :T

Could someone repost the snowman plastic cones e-bay link as I'm going to give in and buy them.....? Thank you.

I like the presents on a plate idea... B&M bargains had some lovely Xmas plates for 99p - mainly snowmen and father christmas. The basket for my MIL is for her birthday, but for Xmas I want to give her a yule log, a couple of reindeers, a snowman cone, a photo globe and some vouchers.... and I think the plate might be a very good way of presenting it so it looks good! I can see a trip to B&M coming on about 6.5 miles away (unless I see any in between!). Perhaps I should check out some of the closer shops first:rotfl:

  • Thanks to everyone for advice about snowman soup.
I am working to day so keep sneaking back on here for a quick look.

I have ordered my cones this morning and will be on the look out now in the baking aisle's for marshmallows, choc chips and hot choc.

I am so excited I know my two children will love these, just hope I can make them to the standard of rainmac and rusty!!!

Thanks again for all the tips. I am looking forward to getting home tonight and browsing the threads properly.

Xmas sweetie tins for my two boys...

    IMGP2424.jpg

Done these rather than any selection box/very expenisve Xmasy sweets. Tins were from Asda (thanks for idea savingholmes ;)). Think they are now 75p (I paid £1.50 ). I I bought bits on offer - couple tubes Dairy Milk mini bars, Dairy Milk small bars, Cadburys Magic Elves bars, fudge bars, mini Daim bars from Ikea (have put rest of pack in my last cello cone to give to OH for Xmas!), Milkybar buttons, few chewy bits. Think total cost is about £4 per tin and they each have a fab tin after all sweets are gone :D

Rainmac - beautiful hamper... :T If mine are lucky I might let them have a sweets / snowman cone! :rotfl: We do do stockings tho with torches and things in as well as the main pressies.

OH and I always open our presents to each other Xmas eve tho, and just leave a couple of small pressies for the kids to give us the next day. It has nothing to do with my complete inability to wait any longer!:D

Right lunch break over - better get back to my day job so I can pay the bills!
