Hi, just had to say what a great thread this is. Normally I make lots of treats and goodies for xmas gifts. This year I think I may make them into hampers as they look so good. My first inspiration is my nan- she likes to read and likes her biccies. So I think I may try and get a novel, a cup/mug,make biccies and chocolates as well as putting in pic of g/kids school photo. Just got to think of others now. Thanks. They all look lovely.:smileyhea:heart: Mrs Lea Nov 5th '11

Thanks! These ideas sound great
I've seen this - but I'm not sure - although if it stays that low, would be a bargain. Hmm....

Did you win it?
If you did I think it was a good price and he'll be really chuffed with that.
I'm the same as you - my hampers dont tend to be too much of a bargain because i end up buying loads to go into them
but i still think they are so much nicer than an 'off the shelf' gift.Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -

The DVD of Fred Dibnah's "Age of Steam" (from his BBC TV series) was on sale in Sainsbury's very recently for £3.0 -
Or how about (for only £12.50) a computer program which lets you design your own GWR Steam Locomotive?

Was considering making my dad a steam train themed hamper as he loves stam trains - will get him a calender to go in it, as well as a framed photo of a nice one(??!!), perhaps a book about it - any other ideas? Also any novel ideas for a basket to hold it in? Trying to think of something - he has no use for a coal shovel/bucket thing!
Thanks- I cannot believe how inspirational this thread it - I read it from beginning to end last night and am sooo inspired!
