  • Oooh Laura I should mention I filled out the bottom of the hampers with newspaper as they are fairly deep. Also my price didn't take into account the price of the hampers but I would have bought them anyway after christmas so was worth it :)

My Christmas hamper making has just been given a huge boost - the Clinton Cards near my work is closing down, and they have tons and tons of small cuddly toys reduced - to 10p each! So I picked a pounds worth up this afternoon, and will probably get another 10/20 tomorrow - woo! I'm going to be drowning in teddies!

On a less happy note, I can't find hampers/baskets anywhere. My wilkos doesn't seem to stock any, and despite being in London, I can't seem to find nice and cheap baskets anywhere! Grr!

Not sure where in London you are, but Ikea do some good ones (branch in Croydon-within the travelcard zones, and Edmonton-By the north circular in the east)

Your hampers look ace, I'm going to do some this year for the first time, I will put pics up as and when I do them, I have almost got my SIL one finnished so will try to get camera set up for taking pic.

Just a wee thought on using newspaper at the bottom to bulk out what I have done is to buy approx £2.00 of crepe paper and i think it justs gives a nice touch, hth:o

Hi Threelittlepigs Both the horn and cutlery were bargains from Home bargains. Picked them up a while ago but I know last week they still have the horns locally but not seen the cutlery for a while.

I thought about using crepe paper but decided to keep the price down as much as possible so went for the MSE route of newspaper, after all it will only be thrown in the recycling afterwards.
