Oh thats so nice of you all, I really enjoy making the hampers. Did quite well last christmas selling them on ebay and have just started listing again for this year. Was thinking about doing princess theam ones for little girls, just trying to find the right things...!!People who live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones...

Honey, there's 3 different types of people when it comes to homemade.
1. People who believe your a cheapskate - if the gift hasn't come from an expensive shop and has the tag on it to prove it then anything no matter what it is isn't worth having. These types of people are not worth putting love and thought into gifts for, just buy them a voucher for their so called upmarket shop or tell them you'll not be buying gifts this year - you'll never convert them so what's the use trying.
2. People who are not crafty at all and so can't see the possibility that things can be made just as nicely by hand rather than shop bought. These people you can convert.
3. People who are crafty, love handmade items because of the love and care and effort it took to make and that you made something especially for them. These people need no converting and all us like minded folk you'll find in here.
It takes all sorts to make a world, I remember one lady on here saying her MIL hates homemade so I think if your armed with that knowledge save yourself the disappointment and just buy a voucher for what the hamper was going to cost. You could always make a nice gift envelope to present it so it still makes you feels as if you were a bit crafting.
Aw thankyou, i think it was just a bit of a shock as these people are my "friends" and guess was being nieve (sorry about spelling), but its keeping me happy thinking about my hampers so more fool them for being boring!
im just looking forward to the arrival of my muffin cases off ebay so i can get on with my sock muffins now! wahey :j :j :j :j :j:jTrying to save as much as i can :THave started my christmas hampers :-)0 -

Hi All
I'm looking for a little inspiration please! I am doing 2 baby baskets for my dd and step dd and would like some ideas on what I can use for labels. I thought about cutting a shape out of blue card (both having boys), but would really like something more original or unusual, if anyone has any suggestions I would be very grateful. TIA0 -
