    hi there

have been watching the thread for a week or so and think you are all amazing.
I am trying to make my first hamper or two for christams. The first being on for my children save buying them selection boxes. The other is for my husband, have got him deodrant, some shower gel and some aftershave. I am also going to put in some chocolates and sweets, but im stuck on some extra little treats. Any suggestions greatly received.

    King regards

Welcome to the thread! Do you have a Home Bargains near you? I picked up soem great little books and puzzle games for my OH, 49p each :T

Thanks Ikkle ,I know they are only a few pounds but wasn't sure if worth paying the postage then waiting two weeks if they were just as easy to get here ..

Have you used them as intended for lovely cakes or for the face cloths ?

I haven't seen the muffin cases here at all to buy and I looked everywhere! The seller on ebay is super fast, I've ordered 3 times I think and never had any problems.

If you are sticking to a theme for your husband with the tolietries and treats why not call it a pamper basket , maybe buy him things you wouldn't normally .. like face masks, eye masks , massage oils or lotions, bath pillow , maybe a candle in a "manly" fragrance , a minature of his favourite tipple , some promise notes (chq's) from you that he can cash in

Boots have lots of 342's just now on their tolietries , I think their No7 skincare range is still on offer, the mens range is really nice and of course you don't need to buy 3 things for him , treat yourself too

I was thinking you could get the kids to make one from them , depending on their ages get them to make things , a nice photo of them in a frame, or something they have picked by themselves.

    The lists really are endless

Whoever was after HSM stuff, Boots have HSM themed Kleenex at the moment! I had to stop myself buying them just because they have Zefron's face on...

I know this has already been discussed somewhere but I can't find my way about this thread as it is HUGE!

I am going to put together a box of bits for my boys on Xmas Eve and wanted any other suggestions for other things to put in. So far I've got/thought of/ nicked idea from someone else:
New pair pyjamas each. Bought some cute ones for my youngest but haven't seen any I like for my 4yo. Anyone seen Star Wars pyjamas???
Snowman soup in mugs - got mugs and candy canes, need to gather the rest
Xmas DVDs - bought Dora's Xmas (DS2 loves Dora!), The Night Before Xmas cartoon
Torches - just a silly thing for them to play with Xmas Eve night
Door plaques (so Santa will now who's room is whos)
Xmas story book - haven't got this yet, we have lots but any suggestions for a good one?
Reindeer food - oats and glitter in a bag with a nice label
Carrot - for those reindeer not partial to oats and glitter!
Biscuit ingredients - so we can bake some on Xmas Eve to leave out for Santa. I was thinking of putting dry ingredients in a bag with a Xmas themed cutter for DS1 to make?

    Anything else?

rainmac on the freebies board there is a link for personalised wooden spoons for the kiddies if you are baking!
What about a wee hot choc pack for them so they can get to sleep?
a letter to santa pack (pens xmas paper stickers) so they can write to let santa know what is for who oout of the cookies, carrot etc?

Thanks for your ideas salduck! I have ordered the wooden spoons - fingers crossed they arrive! The Snowman Soup is hot chocolate so have that covered. A letter is a good idea, I should have some Xmasy stationery left over from last year, will try and find it...
