I have my baskets (well 3 wicker bins from tesco) 2 are for my daughters aged 13 and 15 and one for a friend of my dad's. For my daughters i have bought a pack of cleansing wipes a face mask(double pack) and a pack of hair bobbles and am now stuck, i dont want to make them identical as they have different tastes the 15 yr old is more goth like and the 13 yr old likes crafts and girlie things what else can i addto them.
the one for my dad's friend is going to be pampering i think, so far i have a candle in a ceramic bowl and am again stuck.
can anyone inspire me with a theme so the gifts all sort of tie in together

For the 13 year old a 'pink and fluffy theme'? You can get fluffy/feathery pens, notebooks etc. Bath bombs, shower gel. Fluffy socks, scarf, gloves.

For the 15 year old probably lots of black! Black nail polish and eyeliner! Again socks, scarf, gloves.
:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j

I love crafting and when I had my baby I had no time but I think I would have appreciated a hamper full of craft goodies and a magazine to really inspire me and make me want to get my life back and do something. A magazine subscription would be excellent because when i was tied down to constant feeds having something good to read was a godsend.

My sister has just had a baby and i'm planning to get the Annabel Karmel range of things from boots and make her a weaning hamper as the baby will be nearly four months then. I've also done one for her too with posh hair bobbles, nice socks, mug and hot chocolate, etc etc.

Have you thought about getting her a photo session and a nice album or perhaps a gift voucher for a manicure or something. Just try to think. You're an alien inside your own body, you get nothing to yourself anymore. What would you love and appreciate? What would make you feel good?

Sorry i rambled hope i helped xx

I can't afford to subscribe to a magazine for her. She isn't able to craft at the moment due to all her stuff being put away for now due to moving rooms around splitting a room into two etc before the baby was born and things are still a mess.

Can't afford a photo session and manicures etc aren't her kind of thing plus she wouldn't get the time with three (or 4 if you include her OH!) children one being breastfed.

She is really hard to buy for as she isn't the type to pamper herself due to lack of time and with breastfeeding she can't be away from baby for long. Even when she does eventually finish breast feeding completely in about 18 months time she isn't the type to put the kids to bed and get a babysitter (often many times before she had baby to babysit the other two)

ooh if she likes crafting and has just had a baby then it's only a matter of time before she gets into scrapbooking! Maybe buy her a scrapbook, some photo paper (to print out all her photos) and bits and bobs to go with that. There are some really nice sets in The Works that could get you started. It may be a while before she uses it but knowing she has it may help focus her photo-taking!

Scrapbooking is one thing I have been trying to get her into for a while but she isn't interested, she barely had time for make cards when she just have the older two but now she has a baby she doesn't even get chance to make cards - all her craft stuff has been packed away for a while due to lack of space.

I work at Clarks Cullumpster & the amount of tissue paper we throw away every day is unbelievable.:(

We also throw away lots of boxes everyday too as most people want to leave their boxes behind.

For people who dont want to/cant afford to buy baskets covering a shoebox with pretty wrapping paper to make a hamper box is a good alternative :)
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...
  • hi just spent ages looking through all the posts on this theme and i am really impressed with all the basket pictures, so impressed that i am going to have a go myself cant wait to see what they turn out like.!!!!!!!!!
    stay lucky!
    Steve.
