Rainmac lovely as always and what a lovely idea with the scrapbookRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

Sorry I was the guilty one who asked about the Twinks and DH now thinks I've lost the plot as I'm chuckling at the computer.
Thanks for filling me in and they sound a super idea for Christmas, daren't make before then though as there has never been such a thing as putting a hob nob packet away!!0 -
Went on a mooching spree today around Wilkinsons and Quality Save (I am right that that is the same as HB aren't I?).
Wilkinsons have loads of HSM stuff at half price, still seemed quite expensive to me but I suppose the name sells. They also have Hannah Montanna storage boxes reduced by 25% to £3 which may be good for hampers for girls. Never seen the program so don't know what age it's aimed at.
Quality Save has some great stuff in for parties, hampers etc. They have loads of princess barbie party stuff i.e plates, tablecloths, serviettes, tiarras all at 29p a pack, also some disney princess invites, plates and serviettes. And for the boys......Pirates of the caribbean serviettes - wow!!!!
Nice sets of poshly wrapped soaps, lavender and rose, 3 bars for 99p I shall split them between 3 hampers.
Christmas sets inc felt, pom poms, cheniile pipecleaner, wiggly eyes etc at £1.99.
Metallic coloured make up bags at 59p (or about that), they did washbag sizes and bigger. They have different slogans on like Angel, Glamour, Gorgeous etc. They also do a passport holder and luggage tag set for I think 99p.
Conte ultra washable felt tip pens 74p, also did packs of jumbo felt tips and watercolour pencils, same range and I think same price.
Batman Begins Happy families 59p, sing a long christmas carol book with an electronic keyboard attached £1.99, pack of Christmas Starry Board books 4 books for 59p going in DD Christmas Eve box, treasured tales CD book read and listen along 49p each, they have all the classis titles from cinderella to Aladdin, I also got the Christmas songs one they are 99p for Christmas eve box.
They also had loads of bright coloured (pink, blue, lime etc) wastepaper bins with cut outs on them of dolphins and butterflies, they were 99p each and would make a good hamper for child.
Knew I'd forgotten something, I also got packs of the chocolate coins at 59p. They do mixed bag of silver and gold and I am going to put them in the free Grolsch glass (hopefully), to make it look like a pint
I saw loads of other stuff and now can't remember it. I also picked up the Wilkinson Plus brochure i.e. available on line and they seemed to have some good things in for using as hampers.
Sorry about long post, but I had fun!!!0 -
My youngest sisiters birthday is in a week, and I thought I would do some sort of hamper for her,
I have been looking at the ones done here and they are amazing, I dont think mine will be up to that standard but want to give it a shot,
With her being 18 and so, its easist to base it round alcohol or something like that but would like to put loads of stuff into it,
I have bought a personalised shot glass for £2 off ebay
I have bought a champange bottle charm braclet for her LOL bracelet
I am going to get her some mini bottles of wine, mini vodka bottles, and thought maybe pjyamas (cant go wrong) candles, smelly stuff
Please girls, help me out I could do with help,
I looked through about 60 pages of this thread and couldnt see anyone that has done this before,
Thanks

I went to Sainsbury's today as one poster said she had bargains from there. I was looking for the chocolate candles.. but the only ones they had were £2 plus. I did find tho a kids winnie the pooh icing and cooking baking set for £1.50 reduced and they had a kids rolling in and cutter set also winnie the pooh for £2.50. I'm planning to follow one of your leads - can't remember who it was and do a baking bowl pressie.
I'm planning a foot pampering basket for dad and OH at Christmas so also managed to get some reduced price schol items for that. If you can think of any reasonably priced items to go in that - that would be great or if you know any cheap outlets for schol etc. I was wondering about one of those electronic foot bath / massager things - can you still get them?
For the person planning the 18th - you seem to have some nice ideas already. For my 18th as I was planning to leave home by going to uni I asked for lots of household things lol to plan my perfect escape with - perhaps you could think of a few things like that to set her on her way. Perhaps a fleece blanket and some nice cushions something like that... or a kettle and mugs etc. It depends what she's into really. Need a bit more info re her.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
